I can live with the color scheme, but what I don't like is the Kings in cursive, it reminds me of the old baby blue uni's when the were always in last place. So if they just change the font to something Better.

worse is the correct word. every new kings jersey that has come out is crappier than the one before. the new purple road jersey's to the hideous white v-necks to now this gold jersey.

The main thing for me right now is that it is getting close to our first pre-season game. I don't care if they come out in trash bags with large pink bows on them at this point. I just want to see some Kings basketball!!!

I think the point is not the detailed differences, it's their general similarity...

There's room for one than one interpretation or opinion, tyrant.

Maybe some of us do hate the Lakers to our core. Maybe - for us - the jersey is just TOO CLOSE to theirs.

It doesn't make our opinion wrong - or right. It makes it different.

If you don't think the new jerseys look like the Lakers and/or you really like the new look, that's not wrong - or right - either. It's different.

There should be room for people to voice the different opinions without it ALWAYS having to boil down to one side has to be right and the other has to be wrong.

Those who like the new jersey will buy it. Those who don't, won't. And time will tell how successful (or unsuccessful) the particular style and color combination was...

That's pretty much about it, isn't it?

I don't see any similarity to the Lakers jersey at all. Color schemes are different as well as the design. I think some may be trying so hard to be unlike the Lakers that if we wore a brown jersey with green spots on it, that would be too close to the Lakers jersey as well because brown is a variation of gold... Just my opinion....
All i see is the old retro Kings jersey with a new color.

i agree with your post. and let me just add this, there is a huge difference between laker color scheme and the kings color scheme. most of us learned the difference between gold and yellow in kindergarten. not to mention the designs and layout are way off. maybe with the new gone gold theme it may seem like we're copying, but just by looking at our new jersey's i don't immediately think lakers.

they look ok to me. remind me of the STL Rams' Jersey scheme, which is my favorite nfl team. kinda funny cuz both the kings and the rams play great at home, decent on the road, and cant play defense. now they share the same jersey color!

I have repeatedly said I"m not going to buy one. I'm not saying NO one will buy them. I have said, however, and I firmly believe, they will NOT go flying off the shelves at the team store. Only time will truly tell.

My Laker friends would have no basis to torment me, they know their teams sucks now and they keep their mouths shut. They are intelligent fans (my friends, not the mindless droves of bandwagon fans) and don't talk smack when their team doesn't produce. Anyways, I've given the jersey a second chance, I'll see how it flies down here in L.A.

I wouldn't doubt some Laker fans will purchase the jersey, given its new color and their likelihood to jump on a new bandwagon.

Agrees. I didn't feel the instant urge to "boo" trigger in me when i looked at this jersey as I do when I see a laker jersey(LOL), So i can live with the gold jersey.

I must admit, the real picture here doesn't look quite as close to the Laker colors as the one from the video game. They do still resemble Laker colors and beyond that they just aren't very appealing (yes and opinion).

I will cut the designers some slack if and only if their only goal was to make them a little more "royal" with the gold and purple. I can see how that would make a little sense. I still think they're ugly and would prefer not to see them on any players, but I realize there may have been some half-way logical reason for going with this particular color scheme.

LOL, that's a good camouflage in LA land for a Kings fan.
I've never been in LA and I remember you maybe someone else mentioned having a Kings' flag on your car makes it vulnerable to the Laker fans.

I was hoping the purple would have a more blue tint as it sometimes does (and as it does on the website). Hopefully this image is similar to what it looks like in real life. Either way, it doesn't really change my opinion (given several times in the other threads). The color schemes are too similar, and I think this was a bad decision. If they wear these jerseys more than once this season I'll like the team a little less.

Now, THAT kinda color is what I was hoping for! Nice. I like them, I don't quite love them, but won't get a feeling of dislike when I see them.

Those ones??? I hardly see Laker spirit anymore. The rivalry is almost completely dead down here. Most of them have hopped off the bandwagon and found a new team *cough cough* the Heat.
