OFFICIAL: Kings Alternate Jersey Picture

maybe some of you just have that "i hate the lakers so anything that resembles them will make me puke"................. these are TWO different colors. anyone who has never watched a game of basketball and no nothing about the lakers or kings could take one glance ( without a second look) at the 2 jersey's and can immediately tell the difference. they look nothing alike; old or new.
There's room for one than one interpretation or opinion, tyrant.
Maybe some of us do hate the Lakers to our core. Maybe - for us - the jersey is just TOO CLOSE to theirs.
It doesn't make our opinion wrong - or right. It makes it different.
If you don't think the new jerseys look like the Lakers and/or you really like the new look, that's not wrong - or right - either. It's different.
There should be room for people to voice the different opinions without it ALWAYS having to boil down to one side has to be right and the other has to be wrong.
Those who like the new jersey will buy it. Those who don't, won't. And time will tell how successful (or unsuccessful) the particular style and color combination was...

i agree with your post. and let me just add this, there is a huge difference between laker color scheme and the kings color scheme. most of us learned the difference between gold and yellow in kindergarten. not to mention the designs and layout are way off. maybe with the new gone gold theme it may seem like we're copying, but just by looking at our new jersey's i don't immediately think lakers.

I think you can quit beating the horse now. It's generally considered poor form to continue to use the whip once the flesh has been stripped from the bones.

I voiced how much I hated them when I first saw the video game pic, and how they reminded me of the Lakers. Now that I've had time to think about it, I may just purchase one (sorry VF) so I can wear it down here in L.A.
I don't mind any Laker smack I'd recieve because we all know who has the better team.

No need to apologize to me. If you wear the gold/purple King jersey in LA, I should probably be the least of your worries. Unless, of course, my opinion means more to you than ridicule or other torment by Laker fans.
I have repeatedly said I"m not going to buy one. I'm not saying NO one will buy them. I have said, however, and I firmly believe, they will NOT go flying off the shelves at the team store. Only time will truly tell.

I wouldn't doubt some Laker fans will purchase the jersey, given its new color and their likelihood to jump on a new bandwagon.
I must admit, the real picture here doesn't look quite as close to the Laker colors as the one from the video game. They do still resemble Laker colors and beyond that they just aren't very appealing (yes and opinion).
I will cut the designers some slack if and only if their only goal was to make them a little more "royal" with the gold and purple. I can see how that would make a little sense. I still think they're ugly and would prefer not to see them on any players, but I realize there may have been some half-way logical reason for going with this particular color scheme.

I was hoping the purple would have a more blue tint as it sometimes does (and as it does on the website). Hopefully this image is similar to what it looks like in real life. Either way, it doesn't really change my opinion (given several times in the other threads). The color schemes are too similar, and I think this was a bad decision. If they wear these jerseys more than once this season I'll like the team a little less.
