Too bad Tiki's freak performance last night pushed him ahead of Frank for the NFC rushing lead...

But yeah, Niners look promising for next year. Their biggest problem this year was immaturity -- so many stupid mistakes, some of which we saw in this game. Hopefully they'll put a lot of that behind them next year.

Really hope to see a genuine threat at WR acquired and a pass rush. I know the secondary is a little maligned, but I really think if we could get pressure on opposing QB's without having to blitz with safeties and CB's they wouldn't look so bad.

Optimistic for next year anyways!

I think Frank still passed him to lead the NFC in rushing. Also he set the 49ers record for rush yards in a season and Yards from scrimmage in a season.

Also, Alex Smith was the first 49ers QB to take every snap as QB in a season. For whatever that's worth.

Ah, hopefully. I had just glanced at ESPN's stats page and it showed Tiki ahead of Frank. Maybe they hadn't added in today's game yet though...

I went and added Gore's game total to his rushing totals through 15 weeks and got:
Frank Gore - 1695

and nfl.com has already compiled Barbers rushing stats through 16 games, which equals:
Tiki Barber - 1662

Gore has it by 33 yards

Also, Alex Smith was the first 49ers QB to take every snap as QB in a season. For whatever that's worth.

It helped that he wasn't sacked all that often. Our offensive line was excellent this season; the best Niner Oline I've seen since the '98 squad.

I'm just happy that I have that 'good' feeling heading into next season...I CANT WAIT TILL NEXT SEASON ALREADY! Give us a couple of stud cornerbacks, a couple more decent d-linemen, and another reciever...and I'll be damn happy!

Seriously...the guy was pulled down the line so often that he ran just about as many yards as Gore!

A great end to a surprising year. I predicted 5 wins at most. Th future actually looks somewhat promising.

Lets go further into SF... The 4/1 call cost them the playoffs, not like they will get any better pick anyways... 4/1 don't go for it and you have the #3 runner in the league... BYE BYE nolan. (remember... IMO coaches lose games, players win games)

Yeah, that 4th and 1 call was pretty atrocious, but I don't think it'll cost Nolan his job. The goal this season was improvement--a playoff berth would have been a complete surprise. This team was _not_ a playoff team. A playoff team would have stopped the Rams on that drive. I think in the end it was a good experience for the team to go through.

Course, when it happened I was pretty pissed.

And, if you as a Cowboy fan, are going to participate in a 49ers thread, then you have to be willing to take your chances that we'll reply with some comments about Dallas.
