O'Brien details clashes with Webber

It wasn't just the low post thing. Webb wanted to be more involved in the offense but O'Brien wanted him to only touch the ball in the low post. Webb has been playing in Sac for years, I don't know why anyone thinks there wouldn't be an adjustment period.
Wrong coach, wrong player, this is the end result of it. The jabs O'Brien threw in there are plain ridiculous and petty. This guy is supposed to be your authority figure and he's hurling insults about players being at the end of their career and how he's glad he was fired.

What you have to know is, it doesn't matter what reasons Web had for wanting to play small; the bottom line is GP was smart to get rid of a $20 millions slow, soft, injury-prone, big man who doesn't practice.

We're paying 18 million for three guys and two of them aren't even playing

I hope you're joking. Judging from the Webber that I saw last season, Miki would have a career game against him. Hell, the semi-comatose KT would have a career game against Webber.

It's not like they didn't play against him last year, and i don't recall any career games

Even the Lakers preferred Mbenga to C-Web. That should tell you something.

Yeah, the NBA gives out too many 10-day contracts.

Corliss was useful for a while. Skinner filled in nicely for Brad. And KT is just a piece to be moved. All of which beats paying one slow defensively challenged PF $18 millions.

Actually KT had something like a 23 and 9 against Webber when we beat Philly.

The Webber contract would be a very nice ending contract this year. KT is with us through 2010.

The sad thing is I remember back in 2006 and some people were like "KT is going to be here until 2010", but they meant it as a joke. I laughed back then but it's not so funny now:(

I was talking about Moore, Thomas, Reef. Skinner filled in so nicely that Geoff felt compelled to dump him.

Point being, we didn't get rid of 20 million, soft, injury, defensively challenged asset. All this shifting of players and contracts has resulted in nothing.

If 23 and 9 is a career game for KT, he's worst than I thought.

No matter what, there has to be some truth in what O'Brien is saying... and for a player who was saying how he wanted to win so bad and to be the leader of a contending team, Webber looks like nothing more than a hypocrite and a liar he's been all of his life.

Think I got the remedies to your problems in a fortune cookie once, "Blind hatred is not good for the soul."

We were 16 games over .500 the day Webber was traded and haven't sniffed it since. Regardless of Webbers effect on any other teams he's been on since(being a KingsFan I could care less), I know the effect he had on the Kings when he was still here, we won more. I heard for awhile KT was the answer, then I heard for awhile Reef was the answer, now I'm actually Hearing Moore is the answer?? LMAO. Please... enough... we have had a gaping hole at the 4 ever since he was traded and our record has reflected that. We would have been better had he stayed and at 26 assists per game more exciting too, not to mention his contract would be expiring now anyways which would be huge right now. Kenny frickin Thomas... Jeez.

It was only a matter of time but there is really no reason to keep this thread open any longer. The Webber haters will be climbing out of the woodwork in their haste to spew one last drop of vitriol and, quite frankly, it's not worth it.

For that reason, I'm closing the thread.
