They're showing the reading of the verdicts live on Fox News right now. O.J. Simpson has been found GUILTY of all counts against him, including conspiracy, armed robbery, use of a deadly weapon and kidnapping, and can quite likely spend the rest of his life in prison.

I have no link but it should be posting up everywhere very soon...

And the verdict comes in 13 years TO THE DAY of the last verdict, when he was found not guilty of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Talk about karma...

Las Vegas jury reaches verdict in Simpson case
By KEN RITTER – 13 minutes ago

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jurors in the O.J. Simpson trial reached a verdict Friday after working into the night, deliberating the fate of the former football star and a co-defendant accused of robbing two sports memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a casino hotel room.

"We have a verdict," said Michael Sommermeyer, spokesman for the Clark County District Court. He said it would be read after all the defendants, lawyers and prosecutors arrived at the court.

The jury reached a decision after deliberating for more than 13 hours.

Simpson, 61, and a golfing buddy, Clarence "C.J." Stewart, 54, each face five years to life in prison if convicted of kidnapping, or mandatory prison time if convicted of armed robbery. They've pleaded not guilty to 12 charges, including conspiracy, coercion and assault with a deadly weapon.

Deliberations began 13 years to the day after Simpson was acquitted of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in Los Angeles.

The jury sent one note to the judge around 3 p.m. with what the court spokesman called a "procedural question."

Judge Jackie Glass responded with instructions to look at documents they had already been given, Sommermeyer said.

The jury of nine women and three men heard 12 days of testimony, capped by prosecutors' arguments Thursday that the Las Vegas case had its roots in the 1994 slayings...

O.J Simpson guilty in robbery, kidnap trial

Published: Saturday, October 04, 2008

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - O.J. Simpson was found guilty of robbery and kidnapping here Friday, 13 years to the day after the American football legend was acquitted of brutally murdering his ex-wife and her friend.

After a three-week trial, a Las Vegas jury deliberated for more than 13 hours on Friday on charges against Simpson and a friend arising from an incident at the Palace Station casino in September last year.

Simpson showed no emotion as he and co-defendant Clarence Stewart were found guilty on all charges, which could see both men facing a maximum life sentence.

The 61-year-old former American football hero was accused of storming into a hotel room with a gang of gun-toting cohorts and seizing sports memorabilia from two dealers worth thousands of dollars.

Simpson, who did not testify during his trial, said in interviews after his arrest he had only been recovering personal items stolen from his trophy room, and said he was unaware that his cohorts were armed with weapons.

However, four of Simpson's accomplices on the heist struck plea deals and testified against the sports star during his trial, which played out in low-key contrast to his circus-like 1995 "Trial of the Century."

Defense lawyers argued detectives had rushed to judgement from the early stages of the case, and said prosecution witnesses, including the victims, could not be trusted because they had sold their stories to the media.

Wait somebody watches Fox news?

;):)

I was a little surprised to see him walk out of the courtroom. After being found guilty of that many counts, I would have thought they'd remand him into custody.

Headline: OJ Simpson is guilty.

In other news, water is wet, the sky is blue, and Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

Unless that water is ice.

Unless you live in LA - the sky there is more of a grey-brown.

I'll assume Frank is still dead, no qualifiers there.....

But hey, one out of 3 ain't bad. ;)

Ice is still wet; rub some on your forehead and tell me it doesn't leave a trail of precipitant... And nobody "lives" in LA. The sky is blue.

Melted ice is wet, 'cause it's water. ;) Take ice skating, for instance (from wiki):

Experiments show that ice has a minimum kinetic friction at −7°C (19°F), and many indoor skating rinks set their system to a similar temperature. The low amount of friction actually observed has been difficult for physicists to explain, especially at lower temperatures. On the surface of any body of ice at a temperature above about −20°C (−4°F), there is always a thin film of liquid water, ranging in thickness from only a few molecules to thousands of molecules. This is because an abrupt end to the crystalline structure is not the most entropically favorable possibility. The thickness of this liquid layer depends almost entirely on the temperature of the surface of the ice, with higher temperatures giving a thicker layer. However, skating is possible at temperatures much lower than −20°C, at which temperature there is no naturally occurring film of liquid.

When the blade of an ice skate passes over the ice, the ice undergoes two kinds of changes in its physical state: an increase in pressure, and a change in temperature due to kinetic friction and the heat of melting. Direct measurements[3] show that the heating due to friction is greater than the cooling due to the heat of melting. Although high pressure can cause ice to melt, by lowering its melting point, the pressure required is far greater than that actually produced by ice skates. Frictional heating does lead to an increase in the thickness of the naturally occurring film of liquid, but measurements with an atomic force microscope have found the boundary layer to be too thin to supply the observed reduction in friction.
