Nuggs looking at Harrington/Wells...

Rocky Mountain News - The Nuggets are $3 million from the luxury tax threshold. But that hasn't prevented team officials from feverishly calling around, even to perceived top-dollar free agents.

William Phillips, agent for Kings guard Bonzi Wells, has said the Nuggets continue to inquire about his client, who recently turned down a five- year, $36 million offer from Sacramento.

Hawks forward Al Harrington said the Nuggets have talked with Arn Tellem, who officially will become his agent next week.

"To have an opportunity (with the Nuggets) is something I would embrace," said Harrington.

The Nuggets would like to get Bonzi Wells for one year for $3 million or less. But it could be a while before he considers that.

The Nuggets also are in discussions with their free agent, forward Reggie Evans, who wants a deal starting about the midlevel exception of $5.2 million. Evans told the Pensacola News Journal he is considering the Nuggets, Cavaliers and Timberwolves.

This was before the Patterson/Smith trade, so obviously Evans is out of the picture. Minny or Cleveland will get him now.

1. Unless Joe Smith is going to be a third PF, then I don't think so.

2. If Kenyon's moved, then yes, that opens things up, assuming Joe Smith would be the third PF.

1. A: No.

2. A: Yes.

Well, if Kenyon's not moved and Joe Smith will still be the third PF, there will be little to no minutes for Evans. Even if Evans becomes the third PF.

Without Kenyon gone, you have this at PF: Nene/Martin/Evans/Smith/Sampson/Najera/Kleiza. The last two or three aren't that relevant, but are still capable of playing and being used at PF as shown in the past.
