Nuggets just are playing terribly. I'd equate losing to this version of the Spurs to dropping a game to the Hornets, Bobcats or Hawks. No Duncan or Ginobli. Melo hasn't done anything worth talking about (where is that Melo from the last month of last season that carried the Nuggets to the playoffs?), and the team has been outrebounded by the likes of Nazr Mohammad and TMassenburg by 18 or so.
Nuggets down 7 at this point with half of the 4th left (I think).
I'm not entirely sure we wanted it to go that way -- Nuggets are scorching, and they are beginning to show up in our rear view mirror. Its going to be a real dogifght for us to maintain our position shorthanded like this.
Well, I must eat crow -- Melo made some big plays in the last three minutes of the game, and the Nuggets pulled out a victory to maintain the same record as the Lakers (but the Lakers own the tie breaker at this point, I think).
injuries are reality. spurs have been lucky for the most part, but definitely not injury free in the past few years.
that said, i was really disappointed in the adjustments late in the game. i thought that was the difference. better adjustments by the spurs = not letting denver score the last 10 points = win.
