Vicki Baugh has made the final 12-member roster of the USA U-19 women's b-ball team. They are on their way to the Canary Islands en route to a series of exhibitions before starting the FIBA U-19 Women's World Championships in Slovakia.

Good luck to Vicki! :)

Goin Back to Cali..Cali

Save the Date

Young Victoria Baugh and somebody named Parker will be making their regularly scheduled series visit to Palo Alto on December 22nd. The game will be televised as well on the regional FSN near you. I should have group or general ticket info in the next few weeks if folks are interested in the pre-sale of tickets for Stanford hosting the National Champion Lady Vols.

High hoop hopes

Sac High product Vicki Baugh is aiming for career in WNBA, but first must learn Volunteer way

Quwan Spears/Sacramento Bee (February 24, 2008)
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Each day, Vicki Baugh knows something more about what it means to be a University of Tennessee Lady Volunteer. Her senses absorb it: The chatter of fans who want to meet her, the expectations that the Sacramento High School graduate will become a Lady Vols superstar; knowledge of rules that govern Baugh and her teammates

It's going to be cool to see her when they come back to Stanford (presuming they don't end the series between now and then) and she's a junior and see how much she's grown in terms of skills and basketball IQ since the last time we saw her get significant minutes as a high schooler.

I watched that La Tech game, and she just destroyed them. If Summitt can get that out of her all the time? maaaaaaaan.

Vicki had her surgery today

Jenny Moshak, University of Tennessee Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine, announced early this evening that Lady Vol basketball freshman forward Vicki Baugh had undergone successful knee surgery at the UT Medical Center.

According to Moshak, Baugh’s surgery went well and she will begin normal ACL rehabilitation of the knee immediately.

Baugh cleared to play for national champs

Name: Vicki Baugh

Local ties: Sacramento High School

The skinny: After contributing major minutes in Tennessee's march to another NCAA championship season as a true freshman last spring, the former Bee Player of the Year went down in the championship game in April with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee. The 6-foot-4 sophomore has been cleared to participate in drills and games after a rigorous offseason of rehabilitation. Still, Jenny Moshak, the Lady Vols' associate athletic director for sports medicine , said Baugh is in "rehab mode." Baugh expects to play in the Nov. 15 season opener against USF, though she will miss Tennessee's first two exhibition games for missing two summer school classes, the school announced.
