I'm mentioning it here if there's anyone of one you interested in other women's team sports, besides basketabll.

A few days ago, we were celebrating the one-year anniversary of our Monarchs winning the WNBA Championship.

And now, there will be a five-year anniversary of another women's sports team championship, although it's about soccer, not basketball.

Tonight (Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006) in San Jose, there will be a reunion of San Jose CyberRays players of the defunct Women's United Soccer Association, a professional league that shut down in 2004. Proceeds of the event will go to the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative, a nonprofit organization that uses the talents of local female athletes to improve the lives of women and children.
