NFL 2024-2025 Thread

I totally understand what Amani Oruwariye was trying to do on that play, but dude's gotta know to let that go. Your offense was gonna have great field position regardless, so why go out there and try to impress yourself by doing something stupid like that????

Also, since there was a Simpsons-themed alternate broadcast of the game tonight, I must (appropriately) declare the following...

Krusty is a terrible coach.
Krusty needs to go.

It's probably for the best that the Niners lost this game. They're too banged up to do anything in the playoffs this year anyway. Just drop down into a lower gear at this point and try to cruise through the last 3 weeks without any more injuries.

I hope Greenlaw and Hufanga are still on the team next year. Lynch and Shanahan need to rebuild the entire O-Line around Puni (Trent is a Niner until he doesn't want to be anymore, but we still need to find his eventual replacement soon) and the entire D-Line around Bosa. It's probably going to take more than one off-season to fix this mess and the next Niners Super Bowl team is likely to look very different from the last one.

Defense looks completely different with Greenlaw out there. No longer can teams use the run game to convert on 3rd down at will. Defense still played well but the Rams really started to move once he went out.

I don't know what's up with the offense. It's like every big play involves someone screwing up. If Brock makes the throw, these guys don't make the catch. If the guys are open, Brock doesn't make the throw. It looks like bad coaching from the outside but we know Shanny knows how to coach.

Hopefully global warming will ramp up next year and Brock will be MVP Brock again.

Fine, what's the solution at QB then?
Idk. The answer is you probably still pay him, even though QB salaries are stupid and while he’s close enough to the upper echelon he shouldn’t be the top paid guy in the league. The window is obviously shut on this team, and will only open again based on moves going forward.

Gonna be a few make or break years for Shanahan and Lynch.

Brock's fault that Deebo's dropping the easiest pass of his life for a tuddy.

Frankly, our team just sucks this year. Super injured and our "good player" aren't really all that good anymore. Trent been hurt, Aiyuk was really bad then hurt, Deebo's been ass the entire season. Our O-Line has never been good, but now that the skill guys aren't holding up their end of the bargain. D-Line signings have all been a bust and what's been the strength of this team for the better part of 15 years (D-Line) is a severe weakness even when Bosa plays.

I don't know why we continue to hold Brock to this impossible standard. Dude is 27-13 as a starter in the regular season and playoffs. How many QB's out there go win your 67.5% of your games over a 40 game sample? How many QB's in NFL history have had this much success in the first 40 games of their career? Including 4 playoff wins, which Brock was clearly instrumental in winning.

Jimmy G and Kapernik had winning records as well. The 49ers system is designed for the QB to be a replaceable tool rather than a vital function. For sure, talent and skills still matter, but less so than other teams that are overly QB-dependant.

Incoming “WHAT ABOUT ((list of all the terrible non Jim & Brock QBs” where the talent level was abysmal and quite frankly even Brock and especially Jim would have had a hard time winning with those teams.

Look at Sam Darnold today. He’s having a better season than Brock.

If you can't see the talent difference with Brock compared to Jimmy G, there's nothing else to really discuss. Brock is several tiers better than Jimmy G ever was at a significantly younger age
