Dak dislocated his ankle and had a pro bowl season last year (and then broke his hand this year).

All things considered, Jimmy G coming back in to save the season after Trey suffers a horrific injury is pretty much the only way Niner fans were going to welcome him back. Jimmy’s led the Niners to deep postseason runs before. Time for him to take them all the way.
