NFL 2022-2023 Season Thread

Give Womack some time. Dude was a ballhawk in preseason. Sometimes it takes corners some seasoning to get it going.
Womack was burned badly against Washington. and while not as bad as Lenoir, not as intuitive as Mosley. Lenoir gives up alotta yards, and is the weak link on the field. When 49ers goto zone, a 1st down is in the offing. Rush 4 with zone is a recipe for disaster. Prescott and Cousins may not require a spy, but Hurt and Daniels will. The Giants can potentially cause the 49ers some problems in an early playoff game due to Daniel's mobility.

I know but I'm just saying I'm not going to close the book on a 5th round rookie CB because he got burned a couple times. Lenoir is obviously the weak link but he started the season 4th on the depth chart and is only playing a large amount of snaps because of injury.

Daniel Jones will probably pick up a couple of annoying 3rd and long first downs with his legs but I don't think the Giants will be an issue. He still can't throw the ball well enough to keep the offense on the field enough. Hurt will be the biggest issue with Prescott and Cousins being able to pick apart the weak links in the secondary as well.

Womack has already been a huge win for a 5th round pick. Not sure if he's a long-term starter yet, but he's certainly good enough to be a rotational CB, which you take every single time. How many 5th picks+ don't even see the field in their career? Much less put into a huge role their rookie season.

The statement from the NFL that they didn't observe any signs of concussion and therefore he was cleared to continue playing indicates a possible gap in protecting the players from such injury. Especially ones who have had recent concussions and then get their head slammed into the ground again, or whatever. I don't know what the answer is, but what they are doing now doesn't seem sufficient.

Understatement. I’d honestly sit the kid for awhile at this point….maybe the remainder of the year

Purdy really seems like the real deal.
His real test will come as the starting QB for a full season. Right now, I tend to agree that he looks solid for ya, but he still needs to pass the test of being THE man under center Week 1 to Week 18 (and maybe beyond).

A deep postseason run, however, will go a long way in providing an extremely valuable boost in passing that test, though.
