My pick in the overall record thread was 8 wins. I think I got a shot at that.Maybe we will be the worst time in basketball. That would be fantastic.

How many Tsunamis from Bronson Reed did you absorb prior to making that prediction?I was downright optimistic with mine! Hahaha

What was it? They’re was literally no reason to be optimistic
Tanking is optimistic. 36 is the depth of negativism. At 10-14 most of the 6’ 8” forwards are gone unless you are willing to reach which Monte was not. What was it? They’re was literally no reason to be optimistic
36ish. Figured there was enough talent as mish-mashed and jumbled as it is that we would win too many games just by accident and end up resting in the “Too good to get a good pick but still not even in the playin” level.
To get a player 6’ 8” and over you really need to be picking in the top 6.
We'll land wherever it is in the draft where all the top wings are taken and the next 8 best players available are guards.
Undoubtedly! Though I have to admit I have a lot more confidence that Scott Perry would wheel & deal us into a good situation (ala Nique), rather than the BPA approach of the last few years. We'll land wherever it is in the draft where all the top wings are taken and the next 8 best players available are guards.
Yeah, i don’t know what Perry and Doug have been thinking. When you play vets who are on the downside of their career AND your team isn’t winning, Kings fans are knowledgeable enough to know that the future looks bleak. Playing the young guys big minutes and their is hope for the future.
Looking directly at Schroeder and in a smaller role Saric. At least Derozan and Lavine still produce offensively even if it doesn’t lead to wins. I thought Schroeder would have more in the tank. Looks cooked. I bet if you take him out of the rotation c9mpletely, which will never happen, and inserted Ellis or Carter or Monk, we wouldn’t be 1-4

This mess will only get worse when Nique and Keega return.
Who are you taking out of starting lineup? I can’t see Doug growing the courage to cut the minutes of Russ, Dennis, or DDR at this point after they’ve got a taste of being high usage to start the year.
So I have a feeling guys like Keon, Carter, and maybe even Monk get their minutes significantly reduced. Nique may even get less than he should.
Seems like we are more concerned about catering to aging vets’ egos than winning or developing young talent.
When the 2 guys get healthy, 2 of these guys should always be on the floor at all times…..at leastThe Kings will win again when Coach Christie stops kowtowing to the vets and starts Keon. And they will start winning more regularly after that happens, especially after Keegan gets back.
This all kind of feels like the thinking many of us had over the past few years. I guess not last off season, but prior years when nothing happened at the trade deadline, minimal moves in the off season. I feel like I kept thinking “oh, Monte must be just saving his assets for the BIG move in the off season, or the next trade deadline, or then the next off season…” when at the end of the day that was probably attributing too much to what was ACTUALLY happening (which was seemingly a GM that was scared to take a risk).Maybe the vet heavy rotations we've been seeing are a way to let the air out of the pushback from vets and fans alike, as the actual plan is to play the youth when Keon returns... for all the reasons stated above.
Is that likely? I don't know and no one else here does either, but it's a possibility I'd be very good with.
Yeah, the more losing that occurs the more politically defensible in the locker room it is to sit the vets. Sitting the vets would be more of a "policy" move by the organization, and it's up to Perry to take the hit on that.Maybe the vet heavy rotations we've been seeing are a way to let the air out of the pushback from vets and fans alike, as the actual plan is to play the youth when Keon returns... for all the reasons stated above.
