Next Win Prognostication.

What was it? They’re was literally no reason to be optimistic

36ish. Figured there was enough talent as mish-mashed and jumbled as it is that we would win too many games just by accident and end up resting in the “Too good to get a good pick but still not even in the playin” level.

Philadelphia has the two worst contracts in the league and they have zero chance of trading either guy. Somehow they have a brighter future and ten times the young talent as us with Maxey, VJ, and McCain absolutely wild when you think of it

And if Monte was gonna take a guard over Ware why not the pure shooting scoring guard that’s from Sacramento smh

When you play vets who are on the downside of their career AND your team isn’t winning, Kings fans are knowledgeable enough to know that the future looks bleak. Playing the young guys big minutes and their is hope for the future.

Looking directly at Schroeder and in a smaller role Saric. At least Derozan and Lavine still produce offensively even if it doesn’t lead to wins. I thought Schroeder would have more in the tank. Looks cooked. I bet if you take him out of the rotation c9mpletely, which will never happen, and inserted Ellis or Carter or Monk, we wouldn’t be 1-4

Yeah, i don’t know what Perry and Doug have been thinking.

This mess will only get worse when Nique and Keega return.

Who are you taking out of starting lineup? I can’t see Doug growing the courage to cut the minutes of Russ, Dennis, or DDR at this point after they’ve got a taste of being high usage to start the year.

So I have a feeling guys like Keon, Carter, and maybe even Monk get their minutes significantly reduced. Nique may even get less than he should.

Seems like we are more concerned about catering to aging vets’ egos than winning or developing young talent.

Dennis probably would be fine in a smaller backup bench role at 10-15 MPG vs 2nd units. But we're playing and paying him to be our primary creator and he just does not look capable of handling the workload. He's been horrendous offensively to start the year.

Some of the players who get priority by this franchise, sort of remind me of the celebrities that Ranadive likes to bring in to sit next to him at games

The Kings will win again when Coach Christie stops kowtowing to the vets and starts Keon. And they will start winning more regularly after that happens, especially after Keegan gets back.

When the 2 guys get healthy, 2 of these guys should always be on the floor at all times…..at least
Keegan, Nique, Ellis and Carter. Fit the vets in around this. Then you might win some games.

Maybe the vet heavy rotations we've been seeing are a way to let the air out of the pushback from vets and fans alike, as the actual plan is to play the youth when Keon returns... for all the reasons stated above.

Is that likely? I don't know and no one else here does either, but it's a possibility I'd be very good with.

This all kind of feels like the thinking many of us had over the past few years. I guess not last off season, but prior years when nothing happened at the trade deadline, minimal moves in the off season. I feel like I kept thinking “oh, Monte must be just saving his assets for the BIG move in the off season, or the next trade deadline, or then the next off season…” when at the end of the day that was probably attributing too much to what was ACTUALLY happening (which was seemingly a GM that was scared to take a risk).

Similarly, I’m now starting to hear people/media talking about how Perry is obviously pushing this rediculous roster so that it fails and Vivek is convinced to rebuild….or he signed Schruder/Westbrook so the can help build up Lavine/Debo’s trade value for a series of big deadline trades….or look what he did on the Knicks, he totally turned over the roster so he’s obviously going to do that here…..or some other explanation for this mess. The reality is Perry just might be an old dumb GM. Maybe he’s scratching his head wondering what is happening here and looking at some dumb deal to move Carter and a first for a Kuzma ‘upgrade’.

I really do worry we are attributing too much common sense to Perry and we are going to get two years down the line and we haven’t done anything to improve our future.
