Next Win Prognostication.

We'll probably lose all of them except an OKC game because the basketball gods are funny like that.

As for this Jordi/Mike thing.

It's still just me personal vibe that Mike sticking the team up for an early extension is what did him in (along with the horrid start). Jordi was hired away from us while we were still in 5/6 seed range, before Monk and Kevin got hurt, and the floor fell out of the season and ultimately Brown/Fox/Monte's tenures here. I don't think any credence was given to Brown's long term coaching status at the exact moment Jordi got poached.

Hindsight is 20/20 and maybe Jordi will be available not long after the Doug experiment crashes.

But I sorta enjoyed last night's game outside of the crapty officiating and Reeves going supernova (in part due to shooting more free throws than the entire Kings team). At minimum I think we might actually be building some value for Monk and DDR to be moved at the deadline and kickstart a full rebuild.

Wishful thinking, I'm sure.

This is what I'm hoping. DeRozan and Monk are players that would help a team looking for playoff depth at the deadline. So would LaVine if a team like Cleveland just wants pure scoring but his salary will make finding any kind of deal tough.

I just hope when Keegan comes back we don't go on a run. Especially if its against inferior competition and make ownership think this lineup is it.

But on the other hand these guys actually seem to like each other and there were some nice plays. I mean we all hate Russ, right, but that extra pass to the open 3 was really nice. I don't know. He should have dunked it. But... we got the 3. *sigh*

Even when he's an inefficient gambler on defense and an incurable brick layer on offense (which was not the case last night) he always plays with so much hustle and enthusiasm that I can't help but cheer him on anyway. His overall impact on winning has been on a steady decline since he left OKC in 2019 but there are occasional flashes of the old MVP Westbrook. And both of those qualities make him well-suited for a tank commander role.

Maybe. But if he’s putting up another season of +50% FG and 45% from 3 and 27+ PPG a team could take him. It’s not like he’s a long term commitment.
The question is what he returns on an expiring. It would be longer term dead weight but how many first rounders?

DDR is on pace to make it into the top 10 all-time scoring next year, that could be fun! He might be the guy that knocks Shaq out of the top 10.

Westbrook is a couple years off at his current pace.
Why wait till next year? Just feed him the rock and get out of the way - let's chase after something if it isn't going to be wins or lottery balls.

That would be super sweet for a Sacramento "Queen" to be the one to knock Shaw out of the top 10... revenge is sweet, mf'er.

I think we have to keep up a facade of competitiveness for at least one more year after this one on account of Zach's contract. DDR's comes off at the same time, so that lines up
If we are in a stealth tank great but it doesn't mean I want to watch the games. In that case hopefully both would be shipped as enders at the next deadline for major draft compensation send them together and some team gets 75m off their books for one off season that's worth multiple firsts I would hope for a team gambling in free agency.
