I'm not sure I see the point of this discussion. The Kings don't have to do anything. Garcia has improved every year, so we wait and see if there's more impovement. If so, let him become a restricted free agent. We can match any offer if we decide he's worth it, or not if we decide he's not worth it.
If we trade Artest, and depending on what we get in return, could add or diminish Garcia's value. I personally like Garcia. I think he brings a toughness onto the court thats been missing for a while. So I'm all for keeping him. At the right price. Which will be determined by him.

Well there is always the thought, ala what we did with Peja, of trying to sign a guy just before his old deal runs out, and before his value gets too high. But I think that is a strategy mostly reserved for star level guys, not midlevel/roleplayer types.
