[NEWS] Mass casualty in Minneapolis

no word of ANY casualties yet why do you have that as the title
There have been at least three confirmed casualties. Cite

As far as why I called it a casualty, I don't really think that's important, but I guess you can chalk it up to my military background; we consider anything more serious than the most routine of mishaps to be a casualty. To say nothing of the fact that a ****ing bridge collapsed... what else would you call it?

Prayers for the survivors, casualty workers, and families of all who died in this horrible mishap. :(

While it appears as though the actual casualty figures may not be as high as originally feared, this is still a tragedy.

My thoughts and prayers to all of those whose loved ones may have been involved and to the first responders who are having to try and locate those who may not have survived.

:(

Um, okay. Isn't it just a tad gruesome to do an ongoing body count?

I don't know if six deaths should count as "mass casualties." But it definitely sucks none the less.

It stands at 7 with at least another 1/2 doz in critical condition. They still expect they could find more especially in the crushed area of the bridge. At any rate, I am sure the people of Minneapolis view this as quite catastrophic. To those people, "mass casualties" fits, I am sure.

Definition of "casualty" = serious or fatal accident or a person or thing injured, lost, or destroyed. So "mass casualties" would mean a lot of dead and injured, which appears to be true in this case.

At any rate, a truly horrific accident. What a nightmare that scene must be. The first problem is you wouldn't even know how many people you are looking for. Would be terrible to be waiting for a loved one to come home and they are late, then later, then never coming home.

My thoughts and prayers are with the injured, with the families of the dead and injured and with the rescue workers. May they all find the strength they will need.
