New Uniforms?

Hmmm...points to ponder. One of the guys I work with is color blind and we goof on him all the time. :p

I am red-green deficient.

I definitely fall into the "color-blind" category, except even the 56 doesn't stand out and is very hard to see.

In the lower test, I cannot see the 5 or the 2 clearly, but can "interpret" the 2 easier.

Now you know why my wife doesn't let me dress myself when we go somewhere nice. ;)

Interesting Warhawk. I'll have to show this to my friend at work.
I know his wife helps pick his clothes, cuz he always looks good. He's already told us as much.;)

What about a camouflaged color scheme? Not like forest fatigues or anything redneck like that, (though that might work for Brad,) but colors designed to blend in with the crowd/scorers table/hardwood? Or how about shapes/colors designed to trick the eye into seeing something else, or imitating motion when standing still? (As the military does with fighter aircraft and ships...) Or, even active camouflage? We'd be invisible!

(/joke)

Stealth jerseys... One problem, however. NO ONE would be able to see the players. Make following the game a little difficult. ;)

What would Lakers fans think in the 80s if their team adopted green and white jerseys? Or fans of the Pacers or Knicks adopting black and red jerseys in the 90s? Its just criminal to be walking around in gold and purple.
I was talking about the purple road jersies.

And honestly, let's be real, the Kings gold jersies look nothing like the Lakers jersies. The Kings gold ones are much much uglier.

They're Purple and Gold. With White trim. The only other NBA team to ever wear those colors and that still do, as they're sort of their trademark is the Lakers.

(I agree that they're ugly though)

I posted these suggestions for Kings alternate jerseys on this forum over a year ago, but I figured this was about as good a thread as any to re-post them. I made these thinking about creating kind of a late-90ish Rocket/Raptors-like, Teal+Mascot look for a kings uniform...

aah i hate that teal color. It reminds me of the Vancouver grizz jerseys mixed with Kings colors. or a little of the old Utah Jazz jersey.

Gorgeous.

No wonder they call you Evil Mav.

i heard that they were going to definately bring back the checkered jerseys for retro nights this next year. now that adidas is going to be the official maker of nba jerseys, imagine that... 2-tone, checkered, adidas, ron artest jersey. my money would definately go into one of those

one of my buddies works at arden fair mall and he talked to the guy from sac fever (kings/nba store). don't know how much inside info the guy at sac fever has about the future kings season and new jerseys but if its true, that'd be hella tight

They are purple trim which is a KINGS color, and they are true GOLD, not yellow. BIG difference. Put a Laker jersey side by side they look nothing alike. Gold and yellow are 2 different colors. A lot of time people may call yellow, gold, but gold and yellow ARE different

i agree, a ron artest or bonzi wells or bibby jersey like that would def have me spendin my money!

Honestly, I don't like the checkered jerseys much, but am glad the "year of the gold" is over.

For light - black is the absence of all color ("Its pitch black outside!") and white is the presence of all color. We need light to see any color.

For pigments (like paint) - black is the presence of all colors. Mix all colors together you'll get black. White is the absence of all colors. The white (almost) canvas before you start painting.

I always thought that was fascinating, the reversal of those two. So if I color with purple paint, I'm using a substance that will absorb the entire spectrum of light, except for the parts of the spectrum needed to see purple.

Back to our regularly scheduled uniform discussion....

I don't mind the purple and black. The "royal" color suits the "Kings". I might like it better, though, if the current purple of the uniforms was darker purple. Of course, that wouldn't contrast as well with the black, still.....

My point is that the Lakers are known as the "Purple and Gold". Not the Kings.

And there's white trim separating the gold and purple.

Yep, Laker unis are yellow, no matter what they call it. Not only that, it is quite an electric yellow to me. As to the purple, they like to call it "Laker blue," don't they? Go figure.

EDIT: I kow the Lakers are the purple and gold. And I wish the Kings hadn't chosen gold for the uniforms. I don't hate them as much as I did at first. My problem with them is that against the hardwood, they just sort of blended in. It looked bad, at least on TV.

I wouldn't be too sure. The checkerboard would be considered the "retro" jerseys. The gold may well still be around; I was told at one time that they planned on using them as alternates for two or three years.

Actually, the official colors are "Forum blue and gold."..but whatever.

VF..when you were told thatthey might be around for 2 or 3 years.. was that before all of the backlash from the fans? Maybe they've had a change of heart since then. One can onlyhope, right?

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!:D No more gold! On the same note, can we hire somebody to "poof" the giant 6?

I bet the gold is around for a while, because even tho everyone complains...ALOT of people have them, so if they are selling, there is no reason to pull them

I don't know if "a lot" of people have them, but the people in the Kings store will tell you they were a dismal failure as far as sales go. Some people will buy ANY Kings jersey but the gold ones simply didn't make much of a splash. In fact, towards the end of the season the main reason they sold at all is because they're the only ones they had left in stock.
