New Dude Just Saying Hello

Hola, my fellow Kings fans!!!!

I've been a Kings fan since the 1998-1999 season (which was a lockout year). Prior to the Kings, I was a Michael Jordan fan (I literally grew up in that era). Lived in the Sacramento/Roseville area for 20+ years, and just recently moved out to Las Vegas with my parents to live with my brother and sister in law. I do, however, intend to return to the Sacramento/Roseville area in the near future and settle down on my own and start my own family out there.

I've never been a huge social media guy (outside of Facebook, obviously), and one of my friends back in Roseville suggested I take a look at this site as he had heard a lot of things from one of his other friends who used to be a regular here (He wasn't sure if he was still a regular or not)

I can't even begin to tell you all how excited I am for the Golden 1 Center to finally open up in a few short months. Like most of you, I've been waiting for this day since that faithful day in 1999 when I decided to become a die hard Kings fan for life. Prior to that season, I went to a few games when Mitch Richmond was the man, but like I said, I was a Michael Jordan fan, so I wasn't as emotionally and financially involved with this franchise until the 1998-1999 season.

Another avenue my friend suggested as well was Twitter, so I caved in to his recommendation and have also created a Twitter account. You may follow me by visiting the following link:

Also, if anyone could give me some awesome recommendations as to which Kings personalities/accounts I should follow on Twitter, that would be awesome as well!

Any non-Kings related personalities/accounts that are worth following, in your opinion, would be appreciated as well!!!!!

Until next time....

PS: If you follow me on Twitter, you will see my name. To keep things simple and easy for all to remember, you can just call me Sam...

Welcome, Sam! Talk may be a bit sparse around here in the offseason, but it will pick up for the draft, free agency, and training camp.

Since you're out in Las Vegas you should check out the Vegas Summer League if you can - definitely the best bargain in basketball (though I suspect the first weekend will be pretty crowded with Lakers fans).

Welcome! The more the merrier. Second the Summer League, but if you live there, I assume you must have been before.
I moved out here beginning of last month (May). Since my brother has been out here for many years now, I've definitely made periodic trips to the area, but I've yet to attend the Summer League. Perhaps before I decide to move back to Sacramento/Roseville...

Laker fans don't scare me. I mean, I've been to many Kings-Lakers games out in the old barn (most of them back around 1999 - 2000, during our glory years) with Cowbell in hand. And most of those games saw me surrounded by those horrendous colors. Oh how fun it was to ring that bad boy in their faces whenever we were busy kicking their bootay!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Capt wasn't talking about being scared of the Laker fans. He was referring to the fact that it's hard to get a damm seat in the arena unless you get there two games ahead of when the Lakers play. Most don't hang around for the other games, but they're there in force for the Laker game. Unless the Lakers are playing a team that I really want to see, I go over to the other arena.

I understand that. My point was, and maybe I should've been more clear, that I am not scared of them Laker fans. If they all decide to come out in full force, then so be it. Let them do it. I will still find a way to get in. And if I am that one single non-Laker fan in the arena during that game, I don't care. I will let my presence be known! Don't worry, Sacramento, I will represent our wonderful city with pride and enthusiasm!!!!!

Welcome PFP916! The Lakers should have a pretty good SL team and will be showcasing their #2 Draft Pick Ingram (most likely). That should make them pack it in to Vegas.

LOL! The Lakers could draft Mickey Mouse, and they would pack the arena to see the best Mouse in the world play. The moment you put on a Laker uniform, your now one of the best players in the world. Or so they think!

Would you be surprised if Walton coaches his own SL team and he gets most of his young players drafted in the last three years to play in SL to build chemistry for the regular season?

Maybe a little bit. It's traditional to let your lead assistant coach the team. Gives the head coach some flexability with his time while there. But I suppose it could happen. Last year their summer league team minus Kobe, was essentially their regular season team. Which didn't bode well for the regular season.
