Nellie on the Kings, Musselman, GS, etc...

All in here:

On Musselman:

Nelson hasn’t tried to hide that he was very interested in the Sacramento vacancy last summer and followed that up by taking subtle digs throughout this season at Eric Musselman, who got the job (and is still not a popular man in the Warriors offices), and was fired recently.
More Nelson elaboration from Wednesday, when a Yahoo! columnist asked if he only would’ve come back from Maui for Chris Mullin:

“For the right spot, yeah, I would’ve come back, probably,” Nelson said. “I really liked Sacramento’s team, but they never called. So what are you going to do?”
(How disliked is Musselman in Sac now? Strongly, I'd say; you don't get fired within 24 hours of the season ending if you had many folks on your side...)

I'm looking at GS's shortcomings and Nellie's strong relationship with Artest, and I'm starting to think that could happen. It's a very good fit, isn't it?

Not sure how Artest fits in a run n' gun, even as a PF. Could be a chance for Nellie to relive his Billy Owens disaster.

Upon what is this strong relationship based btw?

Artest has been going to games, hanging out with Stephen and Al, hanging out in the locker room, hanging out with Nellie.

He seems more enthusiastic about the Warriors than his own team, if you ask me.

And he's a fit because the Warriors do need some toughness... And just think about all those ill-advised threes the Warriors throw up; have you ever seen the word "Artest" used in the same sentence as the phrase "ill-advised threes"? Um, only about 3 times a night.

Honestly, I think he's a perfect fit down there. If Nelson were to offer Monta and their pick, I'm not sure Petrie wouldn't bite. I mean, considering all anyone wanted for him was a case of Chee-tos this season.

This is the perfect Nellie project; it fits like a glove.

His own team is out and on vacation. Why would he be enthusiastic about that? Besides, the Warriors are fun to watch. Even Laker fans down here in L.A. are enjoying watching them.
