VF21, so they are saying that the fire in the Plumas National Forest has burned about 3,000 acres. Where is in in relation to you? We will need you to check in with us often with updates.
I can't even see the smoke from where I am. The fire is on the other side of the forest, quite a ways away from me. You can follow the progress on fighting it HERE
It was pretty scary at first, though. The initial fire reports from Plumas National Forest headquarters said they were still checking to see how many lightning-caused fires were burning on the forest.
I've been watering around my house and on my roof most of the evening, just in case.
I love living here but the thought of wildland fires scares the you-know-what out of me. The link I posted above is really pretty comprehensive and will usually have the most up-to-date information.
I was wondering about ya, too! Glad 6th started a thread to report your condition up in the sticks. Freezing in the winter, burning up (literally) in the summer...what a great place to live. Glad YOU love it.
