so Evans plays his first playoff game and then proceeds to leave the game with an injury. ouch..hope he plays in Game 2, he walked off on his own so I think he will be fine. Wish I could of watched the Wiz Raptors game

The fact that I fell asleep in the middle of the fourth quarter is pretty much all you need to know about that game.

Yeah, it'll go to seven, because both of those teams are ridiculously flawed. I've probably watched more Wizards games than anyone else on this message board: they'll blow one game at home, and probably two. In fact, I can see this being a series where neither team wins a single home game.

I doubt you've watched as many as I have but that's beside the point here. I do agree that they are both flawed...last year the Wizards were a good road team but terrible at home...this year they are better at home and decent on the road. I still don't have them beating Toronto but if they do that's about as far as they'll get until they change their GM and head coach and bring in some more quality players and not all these over the hill veterans that provide minimum contributions.

Typical Houston: they practically ran Parsons out of town, and then they boo him when he comes back?

And on top of it he has to face one of the deepest and scariest defensive wing rotations in basketball which was his replacement. It's almost unfair the defensive ability that team has on the wing.

It would make me very happy if Memphis makes short work of Portland, New Orleans extends Golden State longer than anyone was expecting (presuming that they can't win), and the Memphis picks the bones of the Warriors in five.

EDIT - I see that Beno Udrih is giving Portland the business early.

Beno making bid for ex-King MVP of Playoffs. 6-6 from field (his patented mid-range jumper deadly) with a trey for 13 pts early 2nd period 34-18 Memphis lead.

Be nice if we had a guy like that to receive kick outs from DeMarcus Cousins, wouldn't you think?

man...watching Beno play for Memphis makes me miss him that much more. He's got that mid range jump shot down pat. Memphis is taking it to Portland right now...Portland is chucktastic.

Yeah, this is the downside of the whole spread, run and gun offense. People love to point to examples like Golden State and Atlanta, but they conveniently forget what that offense looks like when you don't have the best shooters in the league.

* Tyreke is injured when his team needs him the most?
Shocked - SHOCKED, I tell you!

* Beno being effective and clutch when his team needs him?
Shocked - SHOCKED, I tell you!

* Matt Barnes playing ultra-gritty, heads-up basketball plays to help his team?
Shocked - SHOCKED, I tell you!
(Well, I lie - I predicted all these years ago)

* Chris Paul making even the Spurs' defense look ragged, almost single-handedly destabilizing the defense?
Not a surprise - he's looking better than I've ever seen him play.
He could just win this series for the Clippers.

Raptors-Wiz are so boring...I don't even bother to watch them.... Let's he honest, neither team are playoffs team in the West.

Isaiah Thomas is the best player on that Celtics team..that's all you really need to know.

MCW one of the most overrated players that benefited from a poor performing rookie year class. He's not a star player who'll carry you through the playoffs.

Atlanta-Brooklyn interesting series.

I've never been so disinterested in the 1st rounds of the playoffs...the NBA really needs to change their format. We have all of these sucky teams in the playoffs. I think scheduling should be changed too. Teams in the East benefit from easy scheduling because of the lack of competition.

well with all the game 1's out of the way....there has been a lot of big leads in these games, i'm hoping game two's are going to be a bit more entertaining.

Disagree: it was aggressive, physical play, just how I like it. The most fun 16-11 quarter I've seen in some time.

I
Not sure if elite defense, or sloppy play. I think it was terrible to watch. Bucks stealing everything in sight..Bulls didn't share the ball at all. And the Bucks can't make an outside shot to save their life

I didn't say it was "elite defense." I didn't even mention defense. I said it was physical, and I was right. And I happen to like physical basketball.
