Hope Vivek, Pete, etc are watching.

Watching a team with the defensive mindset (like Mike Malone) putting a hurt on the team that we fired Mike Malone to copy

golden state warriors--

game 2: 6-26 3-pointers, 90 total points
game 3: 6-26 3-pointers, 89 total points

this is why i don't see offenses that place such a high premium on three-point shots surviving consistently in the playoffs. when you play a stout defense that knows your tendencies and can take your jump shooting legs out from under you by applying all kinds of pressure, where do you find your offense? do you have anybody that can get you points at the rim? that can draw fouls on a regular basis? the old adage that you live and die by the jumpshot still applies, even with world class shooters like curry and thompson...

3pt shooting means a helluva lot more when it's used to space and spread off an inside threat, rather than being your go-to offense.

The reason a guy like Cuz is so valuable is it's damn near impossible to take him out of the game. In the paint, playing through him in the post, it's there each and every possession. Without that a team like GS relies heavily on jumpers. Sometimes they fall, against a gritty and schooled Memphis team, they may not and they have nothing to turn to. Many times you're as good as what you can counter with and GS doesn't have a counter to their 3pt game being shut down.

While they were jacking up contested jumpers, Gasol and Z-Bo were having their way within 10ft. GS had no answer. They have no way to create more open 3s as they have no post threat to draw doubles.

If our FO can't learn a lesson from what they're watching, they have no business working in our FO.

Absolutely loving this Memphis team and their determination. Someone needs to take what Kerr said and put it on rewind for 5 hours and have Vivek listen to it while he sleeps at night!

Every single three point happy team has went down and GS, a great shooting team for the ages, can't figure out what to do with Memphis. Houston is going to fall and at this rate so is GS. Cavs are having their own fair share of problems and now with no post threat they too have become jump shot happy, although with LeBron you can't count them out.

Grizz just man handling the Warriors, Bogut being exposed big time this series. The one post up option GSW had they completely eliminated by barley playing him all year in David Lee and replacing him with Green/Speights.

Tony Allen is in the head of Curry/Thompson it's similar to what he did to Durrant not to long ago, I said earlier in the year I thought Lenoard was the best defender but I just simply forgot how good Tony was no one defends better than that guy.

Also everyone's favorite PG all of a sudden can play again in Ramon Sessions who all of a sudden has his athletic ability back and is throwing down 2 handers while flying down the lane.

If we are to take away lessons from the Grizzlies, how about these:

1) Having a top 5 NBA point guard to go with an inside game is a very good thing. The Grizz are undefeated against the Warriors with Conely playing.

2) Having a power forward who can shoot from the outside, as well as inside, is a very good thing. (In fact, Zach's outside shooting, not his inside shooting, is what sealed it for the Grizz this past game).

I know you're trying to push for us to have a top NBA point guard, but that is too general of an argument for me to agree with. I don't think we need a top 5 point guard, but we might. In other words, we need to define what specific skill set a point guard must have in order to operate in an inside-out offense, and then determine who has (in FA or trade) or who can develop (in the Kings squad) such a skill set. Getting this skill set might require getting a top 5 NBA point guard.

As far as I know, the skill set necessary for operating an inside-out offense include:

1) 3 point shooting
2) Experienced in the post-entry pass

Collison covers both bases, whereas McCallum (even though I am a fan of his!) covers only base #2.

The skill set that is common between the Grizzly and Kings guards but are seemingly not necessary for an inside-out offense include the mid range pull-up, ability to have tight perimeter defense, and ability to bring the ball up the court.

The only difference that I notice with the Grizzlies guards is their ability to hit the floater, which shouldn't be that big of a problem for our current guards to develop this summer.

Again, I wouldn't argue Top NBA point guard because that's too general. If we think to generally, we might end up with a terrible shooter at point. Cousins and Gay need all the space they can get in the post; the more, the better.

Totally upset with the replay save for the Cavaliers, giving them a timeout they didn't have AND putting time back on the clock.

23 free throw attempts for Jordan in the first half? my god....can this rule die all ready? I hope Silver persuades the owners to agree upon it.
