NBA Playoff Scheduling

I know that ABC and the NBA wants everyone to be able to watch the "King" in Game 7 vs. the Pistons, but it seems a little odd to me (and unfair to Cleveland and Detroit) to schedule Game 7 with only one full day off after the last game when the players in the other two game 7s in this round will have had two full days or three full days off, respectively. If any game 7 should be played on Sunday, it should be the Clippers and Suns since they last played Thursday night.

Or, alternatively, if the league wants to allow fans to watch weekend games, the Clippers/Suns game 7 should have been played on Saturday, and both the Cavs/Pistons and Mavs/Spurs games should have been played on Sunday.

I think there are going to be quite a few adjustments to the playoffs next year. First, of course, they're going to revisit the whole issue of how the division winners are seeded.

Once they get past the parity issues in the seeding, they're going to have to look at the way the games are scheduled.

Hopefully they'll learn a little from their mistakes, but I'm not overly optimistic about the second part. The seeding problem is blatantly obvious. The scheduling not so much.

They already did the seeding thing. It's gonna be 3 division winners plus next best record ranked 1-4 according to record. So this year would have been 1.SA 2.Dallas 3.Pho 4.Denver 5.Bucks 6.Clips 7.Lakers 8.Kings. Denver is still 4 spots higher than they should have been by record, but it means Dallas-SA don't have to meet early and the Bucks don't get punished for letting the Clippers lose to them.

The bucks don't play in the western conference...

I remember hearing that. Doesn't it have to be voted on or was it simply a league office decision?

All three games should be on today, but the Clippers/Suns should have been on yesterday. All these days off are silly. I remember when the NBA used to power through the playoffs, 1 day between games and if 2 teams finish early they immediately started their series. The NBA playoffs would start 2 weeks after the NHL and occasionally catch up to them. The ratings were higher too.
