I just received an email from DishNetwork about NBA League Pass:

Plus your subscription includes NBA TV, your all-access pass to everything basketball, including select playoff games. NBA Stats Central, also included in your subscription, features real-time updates including scores, stats and league news.

Don’t miss the FREE PREVIEW January 23 – January 29 on channels 561 – 572. Plus, on Friday, January 27, tune to dish home on channel 100 to see DISH Network’s enhanced free preview*. You’ll be able to track multiple games at once through the six-screen mosaic. This picture-in-picture format brings you professional basketball as you’ve never seen it before!

NEW! For the first time ever, NBA LEAGUE PASS subscribers have online access to live streaming NBA games through NBA LEAGUE PASS Broadband at NBA.com**. NBA LEAGUE PASS Broadband lets you enjoy your NBA LEAGUE PASS service anywhere you can access the Internet!

I don't know if you can subscribe to NBA League Pass outside of the US, but that sure sounds like it might be worth looking into...

im pretty sure you would have to have a really nice connection without the stream messing up every so often......

I'm just putting the information out there. People who might be interested can always look for more info.

There was a link to follow for more information: League Pass Broadband

that freakin sucks that its only for pass subscribers. if they were offering it alone, I wouldn't mind forking the $$$ to have just the broadband

It's a foot in the door. I believe they're talking about having games available in the foreseeable future via the Internet through various sources.

That would be soo great. I always longed for the day I could watch games live over the net.

I haven't used the NBA internet feed, but I did recently subscribe to a CSTV college football internet feed. I found the video quality to be acceptable although not great. It was a step down from regular television but I'll gladly use the service again next year to watch games that were otherwise unavailable to me.

I didn't need a particularly strong internet connection to watch the games, although a dialup connection wouldn't cut it. I was able to watch on a computer connected over my wireless network, which I believe means that the bandwidth required was appreciably less than that offered by any cable or DSL broadband service.
