the tank will remain strong in Memphis it seems...trying to rebuild that roster. Now if they only commit to a true rebuild, they would be better off IMO
That ship has kinda sailed though, hasn't it? Passed on the chance to trade Reke and Gasol for picks at the trade deadline. Stuck with Conley and Parsons eating cap space.

The Grizzlies are like the Kings were a decade ago only with a nicer arena.

sure, they passed up the chance to trade Reke but they still can very well have a fire sale and ship out Conley & Gasol and maybe attach Parsons with one of them

I'm not sure how much value Conley has right now. Superhuge contract for a guy who has had injury problems over the last couple of seasons and is one the wrong side of thirty. Gasol is also approaching the twilight of his career (he's 33 years old now) and making almost 50 million dollars over the next two seasons combined. Considering how huge those contracts are, you have a slim chance at best of attaching Parsons and his 49 million dollars over the next two years to one of them. These are the types of contracts you can move when a team's desperately trying to cling to its playoff hopes in February but harder to pull off in the offseason when every team has an opportunity to think things over.

And keeping Bickerstaff as coach is a very late-Maloof era "Keith Smart seems like a nice guy. He's coach now!" move.

There is always a team that is on the cusp or trying to get over the hump to clinch a playoff berth or advance in the playoffs. I'm not too worried about Conley, I think he will be fine he has had all this time and the entire offseason to heal up. As far as Gasol, he is 33 years old but he is ground bound and doesn't rely on athleticism so he still has a few good years in him just like his brother has and a team like the Raptors, Blazers, Wizards just to name a few can use a player like Gasol
