NBA Draft 2025 Open Thread

Probably about time to open this thread up!

The first round of the 2025 NBA draft is going to be held today, Wednesday June 25th, starting at 5 PM PDT (airing on ESPN and ABC)

The second round of the 2025 NBA draft is going to be held tomorrow, Thursday June 26th, starting at 5 PM PDT (airing on ESPN only)

So we're about two and a half hours from things getting started...will the Kings have a pick in the first round? Keep checking in to find out!

Please note that this thread will be spoilerific, with posters refreshing on the social media feeds of Shams and company continuously to figure out who is being drafted seconds to minutes before it airs on TV, and they'll be posting that info here. So fair warning. We had a "spoiler free" thread last year and it got zero comments, so I think we don't really have an audience for that at this point. Spoilers it is!

I'm guessing that Demar has negative value. He doesn't have a lot of suitors, and nobody really wants him. I'd take Rozier with no sweetener at this point.

That seems like a generous deal for us. Of course, the Nets have way too many picks, but on the other hand why would they do that?

I don’t think the issue is offense, they can potentially be a top 5 offense. The problem with those 3 plus Monk either starting or all playing 30+MPG is that there’s no plus defenders on the court. So being about a number #5 offense with a #25 defense is a .500 team.

The good thing is if it doesn't work then there's no excuse. The run it back is still the least damaging prospect if the Kings aren't rebuilding. You have a new coach, an offseason to plan, and a preseason to work. Then 40 games or so to figure it out.
