When I thought I'd seen just about everything there is to see on a basketball court, Michael Beasley goes and does this.

According to multiple reports, via SI.com, Heat forward Michael Beasley, in his first game back with Miami after signing as a free agent this summer, had an incident in his first game. Despite scoring nine points and adding two rebounds, Beasley reportedly required "medical treatment" after punching himself in the head out of frustration.

Beasley also did something a little odd after one offensive play. Upset with himself over missing a shot, Beasley started punching himself in the head while running back on defense. He punched himself so hard that he needed treatment after the game from the Heat's trainer. Steel compresses (like the ones cut doctors use in boxing) were applied to Beasley's brow in the locker room.

Beasley called for traveling and begins punching himself in the head. Meanwhile, James Jones pushes him into defensive position.

That is actually pretty sad re Beasley. Although obviously talented, I don't really think the NBA suits him all that well.

They had the Lakers v GS game on TV here this morning. The lakers are horrible. Mike D'antoni is a massively overrated coach. Offence was clumsy. Defensive effort was superficial. Players are doomed. They are going to have a hard time over the next few years...

how can D'Antoni be overrated when pretty much everybody hates him? but yeah, the Lakers look pretty terrible and are probably going to be a spectacularly bad defensive team.

The NBA Board of Governors has voted unanimously to change the format of the NBA Finals to match the format of the rest of the playoffs. Starting next year, the Finals will conform to the 2-2-1-1-1 format.

The Suns just made a major gambit in their suckitude arms race with the Sixers, pretty much unloading most of the talent on their roster for Emeka Okafor's contract and a single first round draft pick (Protected). If it was legal for them to do so, I'm fairly certain they'd play out the season with a full roster of disabled schoolchildren. The Sixers are starting Spencer Hawes so they're essentially already doing the same thing.

OUCH!

The Suns might actually lose 80 games this year. They have Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, the Morris twins, and an injured Alex Len/Emeka Okafor. Nothing else worth mentioning. Man, it's going to be 2-on-5 out there most of the time.

Omri Casspi has apparently decided to be good at basketball again. One heck of a preseason for the guy. Wonder if it'll stick though
