[NBA] Comments that don't warrant a thread (APR)

While the sheer level of vitriol you reserve for the three point shot is perhaps a bit unusual, fortunately it's no longer a fringe position to say that this era of NBA basketball has become homogenous and boring. Few accuse critics of being "dinosaurs" anymore. I think we reached critical mass when teams started averaging over 40 3PA per game. When the usable real estate on the court shrinks so dramatically, it just makes the game less dynamic and interesting.
That said, if the MLB can claw its way out of the doldrums that "moneyball" inadvertently foisted on its league, then surely the far more progressive NBA can find a way out, as well. I'm guessing the NBA is taking a long, hard look at how to reinvigorate and diversify their brand of basketball. Change may not happen overnight, but as the sun slowly sets on Steph Curry's career, I'm sure Adam Silver and co. don't want a bunch of lesser talents shooting over 40% of the league's field goal attempts at a 36% clip. That's an awful lot of misses to justify the simple math of 3 > 2.
And honestly, it's impressive that three point volume has increased so dramatically across the league and accuracy has stayed pretty flat, somewhere between 35% and 36% in the last twenty years. But when the game gets boiled down to crossing the half court line, having a pick set, curling around it, catching a single pass, and hoisting a three, all in the first 10-12 seconds of the shot clock... that's not a particularly engaging viewing experience when it's repeated ad nauseum. Again, it results in an awful lot of misses.
