My Parents Messed Up Big Time...

Ok, well I'm not a citizen of the USA since I was born in Germany and nor do I have a green card since mine expired. I went to the post office to apply to all of these, and my mom had no paperword. The paperwork we had was all wrong. I don't even have an official birth certificate. The one I do have, my last name is misspelled because of the moron that typed it up at Germany.

Everything is wrong. I have to wait 4-6 weeks to see if they'll accept it, and if they don't, I have to go through court and whatnot to get a green card and become a citizen. I also can't apply for my license without a green card or without being a citizen.

I'm pissed at my parents. They owe me big for this. How could they be so irresponsibly and not have all the paperwork necessary needed for me? As much as they do for me, I'm going to be pissed at them until this is all fixed.

I understand your anger and frustration. Sounds like the whole situation really stinks. Don't be too upset with your parents, though. I am absolutely certain that this mess was not deliberate on their part. Besides, if they did not love you, they would not be willing to go to such lengths to straighten things out.

Just be patient. Sometimes when we want something really badly, it feels like time moves at a snails pace. The good news is......it should all be worth it in the end.

Do you think they did it on purpose? If not, then you have a chance to learn a valuable lesson from all of this. It's called forgiveness.

I'm sure they feel much more badly about this than you do. You need to let go of some of that anger.

At least they care enough to get your paperwork rolling. They could have backed off and not cared at all. Don't hate. Appreciate.

Chill out XRN, I dowubt if your parents had any idea what they needed for you. Citizenship was complicted before 9/11... now the process is 100 times worse. Be patient and ask your self what YOU can do to help them. ;)

I know how you feel. I got pissed at my mom when she told me sshe threw away my college transcripts. Turned out she just misplaced them after she decided to "clean up" my room without informing me. I'm sure it will all work out and you'll forgive your parents, in the meantime, you should see how you can help. Try to involve yourself in the situation and make sure they don't mess up again like they'd probably do to you if you messed up.

That's a bummer, especially when you know that millions of illegal Mexicans had the good sense to come over the border to have their children.

Es ist schade.
