My Optomistic Take On The Kings!

I am an Eternal Optimist though I am usually a realist when it comes to the Kings.
But reading King Cookies graph got me into a mood to see how good the Kings have become.
They are not a championship team yet, but I do believe they are a step closer than most people think.
Right now the pace the Kings have played with since acquiring Ron Artest is at a .625 clip which if they had played together the whole season would make the Kings the 6th best record in the NBA. this also includes the first 2 road games with Ron trying to get aclimated to playing with his new team and basically not having played in 2 years.
since the trade here are the Kings records
20-12 .625
12-2 Home .857
8-10 Road .444
13-7 vs West .650 (9 road games)
7-5 vs East .583 (9 road games)
I think the first 2 games with Ron are a wash, So I look at it that since we have had Ron on the Kings they have basically gone .500 on the Road which is what you really want with a franchise.
Also quite a few of these games have been against teams that they are fighting for a playoff spot for (Lakers, Warriors, Jazz)
16 of these 32 games have been against teams who are slated to make the playoffs.
I really cannot wait until next year to see If this team can gell even more.
This week will be a real tale of the tape as far as what the Kings can do in the playoffs, But I do know this the Kings are not a normal 7-8 seed that most teams are used to playing.
I am a numbers man and numbers don't lie. Thanks King Cookie for showing me that graph!

GO KINGS!!!!!:D

Homer.

j/k. Interesting take. We still need a starting PF. But I think the league needs to be wary next season, the Kings are going to be really good.

Might want to take a look at your #s again - You are missing 2 losses in your E-W breakdown somewhere and your aggregate % - .625 - is lower than either of the % against the E or W - a statistical impossibility.

In general, I agree with you. This team is much better than it was at the beginning of the year. A few moves in the offseason and who knows? :D

Hey, you're welcome! Glad somebody enjoyed it and it wasn't a total waste of time...that reminds me, I should update again.

We definitely aren't your typical 7-8 seed, and trust me, nobody will be happy about drawing us as opponents...although I think the Suns would be sweating a lot more than the Spurs will.
