Muss makes Wise Decision:

G-League
Outside of our getting a W from an arguably 'elite' Detroit Pistons basketball team, the best thing to come out of tonights game may very well be Coach Muss benching Reef. I love Reef....he is probably my favorite basketball player; however, the effort level he brings day-in, day-out is simply unacceptable. One can only hope that Reef received Muss's message loud and clear. Please Muss, light a fire under Reef's lazy butt. Because whether or not people want to believe it, Reef will eventually play a very, very big role in the Kings overall success throughout the year. I have never seen Reef look so uninterested. In all honesty, it looks as though Reef does not enjoy playing the game of basketball. Look in the mirror Reef....this team will need your post scoring and rebounding if it has any plans of real success this year.

He took Sar out based on his foul trouble in the 3rd, not due to lack of effort. I sit at every game right across from the Kings bench, and he was not upset with Sar and simply took him out because he picked up his 4th personal in the 3rd. Corliss comes in, and plays incredibly, and that is why Sar stayed on the bench. There was no way he could take Corliss out when he was playing the way he was.

I'm a Reef fan myself and I was disappointed with his performance today but every NBA player has off nights... the Kings won and I'm sure that's what matters to him the most.

I really haven't been disappointed if Reefs effort so far. He isn't getting great #'s but he's playing solid D and getting some points down low. He is just not as big a focal point on offense as he is off the bench.

It's not the offense that would concern me about SAR.

It's the general "la-di-da"-ness of his on-the-court demeanor. He's got as much passion as a rock. It's like he's going through the motions.

I've defended him in other posts, and I still stand behind the current lineup (I'm suprised I ever got the chance to see it, but 2-0 isn't a bad thing) and I still stand behind SAR. But, this is ridiculous.

He'll have moments where he looks like "old SAR" and dominate, but it's like brief glimpses. Rather than "old SAR" is the status quo and we have glimpses of "la-di-da".

If he grabbed some boards, I'd be estatic. He's usually in position but allows a teammate to grab it or doesn't make the effort to reach for it. Sorry, man, you just have to grab them. I know, you know and every one can see that you're in position ... all it takes is putting your arms out or doing this thing called "jumping".

Look back on the 2nd quarter of the game against the Bucks to see how you should play.

PS - I did like the concerted effort to get in the post by the team as a whole.
