Muss compared to Rick

Entity

Hall of Famer
I have had a while to think about the coaching change and i know alot of ppl hated rick and alot of ppl liked him. What if any changes do you want to see Muss make that you feel will help the team. Aside from what we know is going to change. I an talking about certain plays. We have gone over the big picture like defense, using bench, pressureing the ball.

My main thing is this. Last year in a couple of games Francisco Garcia came into the game and was red hot. He was blocking shots, making great passes and hitting shots and in the middle of this hot streak Rick took back out and put the starter back in be it Peja, Bonzi, Ron it doesn't matter that pissed me off. Why would you take that guy off the court that is pouring his heart out on the court. Ricks substitution style of rest the starter a few and get him back in got old especially when it was an off night for that starter. I saw Peja go 1-7 and Garcia came in and went 3-4 with 2 blocks and was making a real impact then all of sudden here came Peja finishing up the quarter like 3-13 no blocks no assist no reb no steals.

oh and also i want to see that inbounds alley used more often. That toronto game we lost in overtime on Rons second game with us we should have used it then instead Kev passed to bibby with back to the basket wit 0.8 left on the clock.

i think rick was subbing out cisco when he was hot, because he thought that peja could possibly get even hotter.
I think under muss brad will most likely have less assists that he did last year, I think brad's boards will go up to itleast 9, now that bonzis gone. I think mike's pts will go down to around 18 and his assists will go up to between 6.6 and 7.2.
I think reef will play less at center, and kenny less in general.
Lastly, i think rick adelman took the blazers to the nba finals twice, and he lost to michael jordan (basically the best player of all time, and one of the best teams of all time), and he lost to the bad boys (a team that many believe to be one of the best defensive teams in the history of the game.) all in all i think the kings will make the playoffs, muss improved golden state, and as long as he doesn't make the kings worse, we should semi-easily make the playoffs. (were better thsn the lakers and minnesota and definitley definitley the clippers, and the nuggets too, and probably the hornets, making the playoffs should be cake as long as everyone is down.

I don't see how we're better than the Nuggets or Clippers. Nuggets automatically get the 4th seed anyway because the northwest division is garbage.

There's no way you can compare Muss as the coach of the Kings to Adelman until Musselman has actually done the job at least one game.

This isn't a comparision, IMHO. It's a rant against Adelman. And it's all been said before.

Yeah it's just going to be an argument of things that have already been said and sometimes this argument gets pretty heated... Not a good topic IMO, atleast until Eric has done his job.

This is how I would compare Muss and Rick:

Rick Adelman
702-439
13 playoff appearances in 15 years
9 50 win teams
2 60 win teams
2 Conference Final appearances
2 Finals appearances

Eric Musselman
75-89

As for anything more to expect from Muss, who knows. Despite the occasional claim otherwise, Muss's record at Golden State was mixed (and I emna that both in a good and bad sense). Had one good defensive year, one terrible one. Made some players overacheive, pissed off others. Had a moderately deep rotation, but then again, had few great players worthy of playing big minutes. Those who were, did. At this point there is little to go on other than his public statements, which I will take at face, but which may change as he settles in. All a great unknown.

One thing that will be different is the preperation..Other than that, who knows. I guess we will in a week and a half or so! :D

I could not agree more. This is not even really a discussion at this point. Lets see what happens.

To Brick and VF21 this is not a comparison of numbers they have put up in the NBA. This is the little things during the game you would like to see changed and things you don't want to see changed. It could be something Rick did that you want to see stay or something you want to see changed. I am not say Muss is better than Rick or vise versa so untie your panties and just be real for a min and not make this what all other threads have become this offseason or just don't post simple as that.

The only change I want to see Musselman make is the one where he's not the head coach anymore. I want him to be replaced with Rick Adelman. I think that will help the team.

That's a serious answer to your OP. If that's not the type of answer you were hoping for, I don't really care.
