Muss and third quarters

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I have not seen it.

After last nights third quarter meltdown, I started thinking about how lousy Muss be at half-time speeches. He has the whole half-time break to re-energize and motivate the team to come out strong in the third. As well as get the team on board with a second half strategy. The team seems to consistantly come out of the locker room worse than when it enters and this has to be on Muss.

I am thinking that our overtime record is a product of the same circumstance.

I was not watching, but the stats show that in the third quarter, Houston scored 8 more points than the Kings resulting in a loss of the lead. That game does not matter anyways, if you cannot see a trend in third quarter losses, than you are not paying attention.

yeah.. at first we just could close qtrs... now we just plain suck at 3rd qtrs and overtime... fun....

RA was about as bad in 3rd qtrs with this group, would love to see the stats for it, but I don't really feel like looking it up.

Oh, there is a definate trend with the third quarters but in this game it was not the same. The Rockets outscored the Kings, but the Kings played hard the entire game including the third quarter. For one game, they actually looked like a team. Play hard and lose is so much better than losing because you forgot to play for a quarter or two or ...........

I'm with you here - the Kings were just as guilty of the 3rd qtr brain fart under Adelman as they are now. I'd hoped the coaching change would correct that, but obviously I was delusional. I don't know if this problem is the players taking a little mental vacation on the court (I understand Mars is beautiful this time of year), or if they're trying too hard on an individual basis, rather than as a team. Whatever the cause, to me it's the single most frustrating aspect of this team. I can stand losing if I see 48 minutes of effort, but there's simply no way I can explain these lapses.
