I've watched that show a couple of times, and it almost makes me happy to have grown up poor.

Someone who can throw an honest to goodness tantrum over not getting a brand new Lexus for their birthday is simply not prepared for life in the real world.

hahah for real! i was like this chick is crying over not getting a new car on her birthday..... theres gonna be alot harder things in life! they need to be slapped around....

ya i c ant believe how selfish they are, like on one of the mthe people adopted her or did something along those lines because she didnt have anything and now she wants everything and cant be happy when she doesnt get what she wants.

I like the show, but some of those girls are mean, ungrateful, and disrespectful.this one girl told her mom to shut up and if I ever told my mom to shut up ..I'd still be in a bodycast to this day

Also, walking off to some vacation spot with your mom's credit card.. that is just so sad, disrespectful, and unreasonable. These girls just went far off the limit with the sweet 16.

Yikes. That brings backs memories of high school for me. There were a lot of upper-class kids at my school, and the same stories as what sounds like happens on this show. Rich kid would turn 16, parents would promptly buy them a brand new car. I'll never forget the temper tantrum one girl threw once because her mother dared to want to borrow her brand new $25,000 car (this was in the late 80's, so that was an expensive car back then) that mommy and daddy had bought for her. I resented then being a middle-class kid who drove cheap, old cars, but now I realize I had a much better upbringing than they did.

i HATE this show. all the girls they show are such spoiled brats. no respect for their parents at all.

but freakin mtv....i still watch it.

Another show that shows just how spoiled rich kids are is "Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive." Basically a bunch of pampered little brats, with a few exceptions, agree to do a cattle drive in Colorado with monetary awards for various team achievements. All the money goes to charity... Some of those people will make you want to drive immediately to Colorado and slap the crap out of them. One of them used his cell phone (on a cattle drive?!?!) to call 9-1-1 because one of the guys was threatening to dose him with a bucket of water...

The show is nearly concluded but the finale Sunday promises to show enough of the outrageous conduct of some of those kids to make you thank your lucky stars you're NOT part of their world in any way, shape or form.

I know some of the teens in that show are horrible! They're terribly spoiled

I would definately like to slap them

rich kids being spoiled

*yawn*

how about for a sweet 16 birthday the parents make them go work at mcdonalds for the day, or *GASP* make them take the bus to school. or shop at good will, make them eat cafeteria food at a public school, drive a piece of junk around for the day with wierd rattles. give them a dose of reality.

now THAT would be intresting to watch.

Miss Sofia takes the cake. Gosh she is so horrible.

I remember this one scene where her mom brings in her morning birthday breakfast and after she is done with it. She calls her mother on her cellular phone and tells her she doesn't know what to do with her. Her mother tells her the butler will come and take it. The kid actually needs to get up and not sit on her big butt because she is somewhat chunky.

In another scene, her mother hires a stylist for 10G to help pick out a dress for her daughter's party. The stylist wasn't any helpful because Sofia didn't like any of the dresses she picked out. She would constantly yell at her mother in front of strangers and even told her mother to take a seat on the corner because she couldn't take her mother constant nagging.

I think her mother spent 180G on her party.

The Dr. Freud in me thinks these kids yell so much at their parents because deep down, they actually want their parents to tell them 'no' at some point.

^^seriously. How can you not just say no to your kids? I don't care if they cried for hours. They would NEVER get what they wanted if they treated me with no respect. Tell me to shut up? Man, I would backhand the living hell out of them, in PUBLIC.

I don't know if things are exaggerated for the show to be a little more interesting(we have a thread about it, no?), but the girls sure as hell are extremely bad regardless.

yeah she wasn't in the greatest shape and it didn't help that she thought she was all that, her hair was a mess and pick-headed...her mom had issues to...I mean, letting her order her around like that is almost sickening!

What made it worse is that afterwards she "had" to bring in doughnuts for her class. Not just any doughnuts mind you....Dunkin' Doughnuts which meant that her mom "had" to drive in the opposite direction for some damn doughnuts and a Coffee Coolatta.

That dress wasn't a good dress for her body type. Not enough support for her chest and sticking a brooch in the middle made it worse. Her hair in general was a mess.

In general this show makes me realize how happy I am to have grown up with values.
