Monarchs vs Mystics comments

What a scrappy, battle all out, win by the Monarchs. I was proud of the grit and determination that the ladies displayed today. As usual, the refs were bizarre. At one point I yelled out, "Ref school starts next week. Be there."

Nicole had a fantastic shooting night (28 pts leading all scorers). Everyone had a part in the win. Linda Fro was huge in her short stint. She was 2 for 2 from the 3 pt line. She just needs to cut down on her turnovers, as does Haynie (who really struggled all night). Brunson played 37 minutes and rewarded us with another double double. Dang! She sure deserves MIP in my book.

Wooohoo!! An overtime win!! Took a couple of months but we figured out how to win one of those. That may come in handy for the second season.

This group of refs was incredibly bizarre to say the least. The cascade of boos the refs walked off the court with tonight was very aptly related to the appreciation the crowd had of their effort tonight. I *guess* traveling is such a problem they just HAD to make that call..A LOT. I think eaaaaaasily half of our turnovers HAAAAAAAAAAAAD to be traveling violations. Seeing as we had 29 damn turnovers tonight, I'd say its a little hard to single anybody out as needing to work on it, this was a solid team effort in the
"needing to stay focused and do good things with the ball when it's in your hands" department.

I guess Scho was the recipient of the Newton treatment tonight, that is after Chelsea got done being knocked around per usual. Great performance by the posts who were on duty tonight. I wore the Powell gray on Friday hoping it would work the same magic it worked when she slumped in 2005, I guess its on time delay or something this season. I will wear it on Monday and see what happens against San Antonio for her. I've got the KLaw ready to go if necessary too, she needs to get hot coming down the stretch as well. Maybe I'll layer and wear both tomorrow...

Life without Yo and Ticha ... ?

It was strange to see Yo and Ticha hanging out under the basket during the warm-ups ... It's hard to imagine a Monarch's game without those two, but there it was, and the M's pulled it out for the overtime victory. SOOO many traveling calls, did Vegas have a line on total traveling calls? Nicole was awesome, and I was glad to see Froh get in the game and knock down some shots and put a big body on Milton-Jones. ALANA Beard sure has a lot of weird bandages and tape on her left arm; she acts like she NEVER committed a foul, not a big fan of that. The post season is right around the corner, whether or not the M's get a higher seed, I hope they can get healthier and be FRESH for the playoffs....

Major props to the teams tenacity , overcoming the turnovers & the poor officiating. We played as a team & was very proud of the bench. They came in & fought hard. Gotta give some luv to The Fro...she hit those two 3's & had the biggest smile on her face, as did her teammates. Ticha & Yo were the biggest fans from the bench. Must be awesome to have your starters get excited over your efforts.

We did catch some breaks when Beard missed that lay-up before overtime & they missed free throws. Thankfully we regrouped & picked up a needed OT win!

Nice & loud crowd on hand....great job SacTown fans.

Definitelyyyy, and I've never seen the Mystics' 6-foot-7 player Gillian Goring in my life before yesterday. Whenever she came in and guarded either AWilliams or Becky Brunson, I got extremely scared for both of them.
Anyway, I counted the number of times "traveling" was mentioned in the game's play-by-play and I got 10 for the Monarchs. That's the type of count we'd see in a j.v. high school game, and our Monarchs are in no way at that level. The refs were crazy, but I was happy to see none of our Monarchs lost their cool and kept their composure throughout!

Anyone get the lowdown on who Beard was upset with after the Ball game. She had to be restrained when the Horn sounded. I am sure will find out.

I semi sort of like how the offense worked. When we moved our feet it worked really well. When we stood around Ewww.

BIG Ups to The Post game especially Frau Frolich (Or as we Americans say FAH-ROW-LICK.) for hitting the 3's and banging those boards. told Ya she could help. But seeing is believing.

But My Special BIG FAT UPS goes to Adrian A-DUB Williams. Who somehow managed to hang really tough in a really nasty ball game. And squeezed out 17 fantasy Point. Way to go DUB-YA

It was a dirty Dog Fight But Blue Squad got us a win, Sho got pounded, but hung in there. Way to go Sho Ho Do Ro!

I know we are technically in the running for that 2nd seed. But I would rather have a healthy squad at the 3 spot than an injured spot at the 2 seed. Let Blue Team get some more work in. It will come in handy in the first round. And who Knows They may even get us a few more wins.
