First off, its good to see the Monarchs off to their best start in franchise history.
Ok...I was able to watch most of the 1st half of the game and I have a few comments. So, I hope you won't think I'm too critical...it was just what I saw.
Their free throws stink. So, far its only 7-14.
Is Maiga that terrible?
Do the Monarch's have any perimeter shooters? Almost everything was inside. Because it looks like the Monarchs look too much for that inside game.
Do the Monarch's always get off to a slow start? (Just like the Kings)
At the 9:54 mark in the first half, Haynie finally hits the FIRST perimeter shot for the Monarchs. They need more perimeter shooters. Before Haynie made that shot, the only shot that a Monarch player took was Yo and she missed at the free throw. So for 11 minutes there were only 2 shots taking; the rest were inside. Is this good? I was hoping for a more balanced shot selections.
I must admit, that was one heck of a screen by Tamika Whitmore on Newton in the first few minutes of the first half.
Unfortunately the rare times that I watch a Monarch game, they aren't doing so well. I think if I don't watch, maybe they can pull it off. So, hopefully, they can regroup in the 2nd half.
