Kings guard Cuttino Mobley had enough and didn't care if the whole world knew his frustration.

In fact, he knew following Tuesday night's 125-123 Phoenix Suns victory over the Kings that the whole world included the NBA offices, and his check likely will be a little lighter next pay period.Mobley believed Brad Miller had been fouled before Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire blocked the Kings center's shot just before the game-ending buzzer. Mobley's frustrations, however, were broader than this game.

In a thoughtful yet emotional exchange with the media, Mobley, sans skull cap, said he's tired of how officials appear to go unpunished for mistakes - and comments to players.

"Should refs get fined for messing games up?" he asked. "I mean, the top offices protect them to the fullest. You know what I'm saying. You'll fine us to the fullest. If we do something to (the officials), they'll go cry to (Commissioner) David Stern or somebody.

"If I get fined for this, so what? I don't care. I know I'm not a bad guy. I'm know I'm not a bad kid or whatever you call it. But (the officials) go unscathed. I mean, it's blatant. You don't even look at your other refs. Shawn Marion, first he grabbed (Miller), and then it's a goaltend. Then you don't even go to the table to look at the (replay)."

Officials generally use replay only to determine game-clock issues. Bernie Fryer, Leon Wood and Matt Boland didn't consult before leaving the court.

Mobley said the officials have to recognize the competition factor involved in the game.

"They won't get punished for the cost of a game," he said after scoring 23 points against the Suns. "That cost us a game right there. Sometimes I look at how some refs talk to people, and you can't even talk to some of them. Some of them are either too young or too old to talk to.

"I think they should get punished also. They were rushing off the floor like somebody was going to beat them up. Nobody was going to touch you. They get protected like ... the government. Where were (they) going, this late at night?"

Mobley reiterated he could deal with the fine that is certainly headed his way. "I'm protecting my team," he said. "I don't care if I get fined."

I heard his interview on the way home last night. I think he said alot of things that other players feel but haven't spoken up in fear of being fined.

i know. c-webb's always saying stuff like "i want to say something but i don't want to get fined." please... these guys make (especially webb) millions and millions of dollars. whats 10 g's here and there to get your point across. i heart mobley for his words and having the guts to come out and say what he felt and not worry about the fine. he hasn't even been on the team for a month now. awesome!!!

paper is paper...i don't blame them if they don't want to get fined...regardless of how much money they make...the amount of the fine is A LOT...to everyone

but like i said im happy that Cat said what he said....EVEN THOUGH he knows he'll get fined...he knew it had to be said
