Mobley and Jaric

Potential bad news for the Kings on two fronts.

According to Real GM, the Clippers are now more interested in Mobley after losing Simmons to the Bucks. The Kings hopes for a sign-and-trade rely on one or both of the following being true (1) Mobley doesn't want to go to Clipperland (2) the Clips won't pony up for the inflated market value that has been established for Cuttino.

I think option two is more likely, as the Clipper roster definitely has talent, and has its best players signed longterm. Plus, I'm sure LA would appeal to Cat.

The other bad news is that (also according to Real GM) the Nuggets are looking to offer Jaric the MLE. I could definitely see them playing him at the 2, especially with Earl Boykins in the game. I don't think there was ever any serious consideration on Denver's part, but I think this signing would eliminate any desire to sign-and-trade for Mobley.

I wonder if the Clippers would match an offer for Jaric? If so, that might kill two birds with one stone as far as the Kings are concerned. It would decrease the chances of the Clips signing Mobley if they had to pay out for Jaric, AND it would eliminate another SG option for Denver.

That's my hope anyway.

Ah, but does Cuttino really want to go to the Clippers? While I think he would love to play in Staples, I don't think it's the Clips he would be excited about.

well, maybe we could get a sign and trade with mobley going to Clippers for Chris Wilcox. I think he has a lot of potential.

Only if Cuttino agrees to it. Bottom line is I don't see the Cat playing for the Clippers...

Yeah, being a native in LA, I don't think cat would wanna play for sterling and the clippers.

It pains me to say this, but the Clips may well have a brighter future than the Kings at this point.

Sterling let Simmons go, so he's still The Donald, but they have some real talent right now. Brand and Mags are very solid and I really think Livingston is a stud. Kaman shows flashes, but I'm not sure he'll ever be consistently good. Still, he's a more than adequate center. Wilcox is nice off the bench and any contribution from Karolev will be a bonus.

In short, the Clippers have what I wished the Kings did, solid veterans and some youngsters with potential to give the team hope.

Of course, they ARE the Clippers, so they'll screw it up. But they could easily convince Cuttino that they won't. I'm more hopeful that they won't pony up the bucks than I am that Cuttino wouldn't agree to be a Clipper.
