Yeah, so far I've been impressed with Mobley's defense, especially since he's not really known for it. I'm hoping that he realized all the Kings fans were worried about losing DC's D, and has decided to step it up a notch to make us feel better!

Actually that's not as far-fetched as your winky icon might make it seem. Mobley just might be a lot more focused on D because he knows who he's replacing. May have even been mentioned to him by the coaches or teammates. And that of course will be a very good thing for us as long as he keeps his focus on that of the ball and it doesn't just turn into a honeymoon period thing.
My lightbulb went on....barely hehe...and I remembered that Francis was #3 in Orlando, so my brain sparked a little more and I put 2 and 2 together and I figured out why Cuttino chose #3 on the Kings.....ooops, I have smoke coming out of my ears, better go put it out

I agree. Although I was semi joking about him trying to impress the fans, I think that he realizes that in order for this trade to be a "success" from the Kings point of view it is vital that our defense doesn't completely fall apart without Doug. So far I am happy with the trade (now that I am over my mourning period for DC). Looks like the "chemistry" hasn't fallen apart either, so, so far, so good!
This is almost like a very sad forced breakup with a great girlfriend because she has to move away for a job/school.... and then later meeting some great new girlfriend.

As I have said before, Cuttino is a very underrated defender. He can blcok shots like he has shown the last 2 games, abnd he can also steal like he has done lately. He has also gotten steals in crunch time.
The reality is that Cat's never averaged more than 1.5 steals or 0.5 blks a game in his career. even if his focuse is better for us and he improves those numbers, I don't expect him to maintain an All-defensive Team 2stl 3blk a game pace. (Although he may of course feel free to if he'd like )
P.S. as an aside, just checked Fat's numbers on basketballreference.com -- in 1988-89 he averaged 19.8pts 9.3rebs 7.9ast and 2.7stl as a GUARD...and did not make the All-Star game.
