Melvin allowed Verlander to “talk into” a Giants L

It wasn’t a bad decision to send him out for the 6th, but bad to not have a reliever ready and terrible decision to leave him in with 2 on when he didn’t have strikeout stuff today.

But it should be said i think this Giants team always have a shot. Last season, I feel the game is over at 2-0 and even when they fell back behind 6-3 it still felt like they could get back in it…and almost did.

Lamonte's been a great Giant, but dude looks washed. Doesn't have even close to the same eye that's made him a major league caliber hitter.

Idk if that’s worth the trade off… we get vastly worse on defense, more importantly it also puts extra wear and tear on our current beet hitter who’s been hindered the past multiple seasons with nagging wear and tear injuries.

Just gotta wait for Eldridge. Or a stop gap until then.

I know it’s his first blow in his very limited sample size dating back to last season… but he doesn’t have closer stuff. He nearly coughed up as many runs in that 0.1 innings than he has K’s this season. I’m sick of the “grind it out” repurposed middle reliever closers that have become an organization staple. Get me somebody electric
