is what won this one.

He needs to be getting more props for what he did as well, not just Kevin. Not to knock Kevin at all, but Mike was instrumental in getting the steal and setting up Kevin for the game winner.

WTG Mike!

yeah, and it was a foul, but props anyway cause the refs never call fouls in the final minute of games...just like the non-call on Duncan when he fouled Martin on the layup.

Last night he was the worst defender in the league and Adelman was an idiot for not benching him... tonight he's a hero on defense. I guess that's NBA basketball.

interesting quote from manu:

"I just kind of lost it," Ginobili said. "It was the worst turnover of my career. I really don't know what happened. I'm just very upset right now. We had the game, and of course I let it go."
-----------------------
i thought for sure he was gonna blame the officials or at least hint about him getting fouled or whatever.

anyway, mike, thank you for the steal and the assist at the end! great job! :D

Kinda reminds me of when Jeromoe Bettis turned it over vs. Colts escept this time the Kings won the better end of it!

I don't think that was a foul it was a flop. Manu just flopped and jumped trying to get the call but the refs didn't give it to him and Mike made the great defensive play. Mike deserves props for this. I'm not say he is a great defender but that was a great play IMO. WTG Mike.

Ditto!! It did not look like a foul to me..juss Manu doing his flop which ususally works for him--so glad they didn't buy it this time.

Dumb and Dumber... (Kings Style).

:D Kings Fans: Just when we thought you couldn't get any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself! :D

Way to trade the Shaggin' Wagon for the Moped Mike... Way to go!

I ran the play in slow motion (tivo) to try to see what the heck happened on that play, and Manu just flat out lost control of the ball, turned in midstream to try regain control, and fell back on Miller as Bibby swatted it away, then manu just went for the flop. I didn't see any contact other than maybe a slap to the hand - though the flop was pretty convincing at normal speed. He's gifted there.

^^ yep. the flop WAS convincing i was about to cry in anticipation of a foul call. but then the game kept on going and before you know it kevin's shot goes in! omg it happened so fast!

great non-call! finally something went our way in this series!

go kings!

Parker should have been the ball handler or not been in there. He shouldn't have been the additional shooter. Horry should have. Bibby was allowed to cheat(because it was Parker).

Would never have happened with Finley, Horry, Barry, and Duncan out there with the ball handler(Parker or Manu).

But since he had the opportunity, good job by Bibby.l

Poor Ginobili..

I agree entirely.

Ron deserves his own "any questions" thread, too, as does Mike. I went with my emotions.

Mea culpa.

Is anyone else a little suprised at that little part? Kind of a defeatist, low-self esteem kind of comment - and Manu has rings!

He's disappointed in himself. He let everyone down. Although, I do question Pop's personel a tad in there. Oh well. You sulk today, and put it behind you tomorrow like anything in life.

Remember, Manu is speaking English as his third langauge, I believe. What he most likely meant is "We had the game, and of course (as you all know) I let it go."

I think he was just reinforcing that he, too, knew he was to blame.

I'm not gonna fault Manu. Spurs fans are already doing that. In fact, I think they're more angry with him than they are with Bibby or Martin...

And that's just so sad.

;)

That's how fans tend to be.....that's the normal sports fan.... :)

More than the steal was the decision to not call a timeout. That is called leadership and court vision. He saw Kevin running and just went off instinct, that was amazing!

Throughout the game when Manu did have the ball, the Kings defend him pretty well. Most times when I watch the Spurs, he's also seem like not a good ball handler and FT shooter (if he was to get foul). So I wasn't sure why Manu had the ball at the end of the game? Plus, he's a crazy player (yet he still makes crazy shots) and what he did last night was out of control and shouldn't surprise lots of Spurs fans. It didn't surprise me.

Great steal by Bibby regardless! It was out of the instinct to pass to Kevin for the layup because he could had called a timeout if he want/need to. It look like something Bibby and Kevin always practice. :D

Bonzi, Artest, and Bibby all stepped up in this game. Bibby was "clutch" at the end of the game because it takes guts to go on a fast break with 5 seconds left and you down 1. Most players would have called a timeout, but not Bibby. Props to Martin for making the near impossible layup(the angle where he was and the fact that Tim Duncan was there would have caused players to miss). What a game it was...

That play by Mike was a GREAT play, it still seems like folks don't want to give him his credit. He seized the opportunity and made a GREAT heads up pass (Great body control and shot by Kevin)....that's what point guards, LEADERS do in the clutch, and how many times does he have to come thru for us in the clutch to quit getting bashed all the time!? I'll take MIKE anyday anytime...Great GAME KINGS! :D
