Michael Jackson Dead

R.I.P.

Seems like he was killed according to the press... They say that his doctor injected him more "demerol" that usual yesterday and after that he just vanished. Police is trying to find him now... Terrible

VH1 Classic is showing Michael Jackson music videos all weekend. I've seen some I don't remember at all and others I had forgotten about...and the uber-classic long version of "Thriller." If you get VH1 classic, you might want to check it out.

Thanks! I'd have never seen that.

BTW - If you have AT&T U-verse, it is channel 520.

Back on topic. Special prayers for his children.

I remember seeing the uber long version of Thriller when it first premiered. Probably the NEXT time I saw it was a year or two ago - whenever the big celebration of the album's anniversary was.

My sisters and I waited for the premier on MTV. Video starts and about the time he does the wolfman conversion, my youngest sister (who was 6) dives head first under pillows and won't come out until the video is over and I think was freaked out the rest of the day. My mom got soooo mad at us for subjecting her baby to that video that we weren't allowed to have it on when she was around or if my mom was home period. Even when "The Making of Thriller" came out and we tried to show her that it was just Michael in some makeup, little sister still freaked lol.

I'm not sure my sister has ever watched the long or short version of that video much since then. Thriller video to her is like clowns are to me lol. Sooo many Jackson music memories over the course of my life, so little time...

Slim,...that Chris Rock line was hilarious! Who among us back in the day didn't argue Prince/MJ MJ/Prince? lol. I just read someone say they did, and it was like arguing the sun was better than the moon, you couldn't go wrong either way and (musical)life (or pop culture) without one would not be the same. amen to that.

:off to VH1Classic:

That was one thing about MJ: He loved putting on productions. I even forgot how long the "Bad," video was. It was like a mini-movie!! Almost every single one of his videos, even besides "Thriller" and "Bad," were all mini-movies.

I totally forgot about one of his newest ones too, "You Rock My World." The video with Marlon Brando and Chris Tucker. I saw that one on VH1Classic yesterday. That one was great too.

Speaking of You Rock My World....I hated "Invincible" when it was released, yet still bought it lol. Wasn't until recently, again Thriller tribute time...XM Radio devoted a channel the entire month of March to Jackson, Thriller and his music. Gained a new appreciation for that album and how ahead of his time Jackson truly was. Him adapting a sound to go along with where the Timberlakes et al have taken music, still sounded like him 20 years earlier creating the path that Timberlake et al followed. There were definitely still some clunkers on that album, but a deeper beauty that I finally got a few years later.

Sigh...
