Memphis boards

Geez I love reading the Grizz boards. They are as confused and messed up as we are concerning the supposed smokescreens of the Kings brass. If they are smokescreens at all? Mind games make my head hurt. If it is a ruse, it's a brilliant scheme by both Rubio's and Sac's camps.

take a peek. Some are hoping for just a #23 and #4 for the #2 because of the very real possibility that if they trade down, they lose Tyreke Evans. Some even advocate just taking Tyreke Evans straight up. I'm pretty sure most, if not all are past the #4/Thompson for #2 pick fortunately. Brilliant move by Petrie if this turns out to be a smokescreen.

I wouldn't even trade Thompson for the #2. Adding the #4 is beyond stupid.

'Hey guys...if the Kings want Rubio, we should ask for Thompson, Hawes, Garcia and the #4'. I swear, they must think we're REALLY dumb! We're not giving up our PF of the present and future. We'll draft Curry or Flynn before we ever do that...c'mon Grizzly fans...really.

In all fairness, I don't think their proposals are any worse than some of the ones I've seen posted in our own forum.

:)

ahaahaha

The Kings are in a great postion. Oh Memphis wants to draft trade bait, and take Rubio? The Kings take Flynn/Evans, move on. They take Evans? We win.

I posted this in another thread, but I think it is fitting:

But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemy's? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

We like Rubio, but we don't think he is a Jason Thompson better than Flynn or Evans, and we definitely don't think he is a combination of Hawes/Thompson/Garcia/# 4 better. Out of their minds, I say.

This guy is cool

On a side note, when we missed out on the Oden/Durant/Horford sweepstakes, we were deflated as a fanbase, but dealt with it. These Kings fans are something else though. I haven't run into a more bitter, entitled group of fans in a long time. Seriously, they make the wailing and gnashing of teeth going on around here look like a happy day at Romper Room...

Seems a little bitter himself.

blah, blah, blah... We've got a long-standing tradition of not bringing posts over from other boards. Now I remember why.

Roundup: Milicic headed to New York

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to send Darko Milicic to the New York Knicks for Quentin Richardson and cash considerations.

Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni believes he can turn Milicic back into the promising prospect the Detroit Pistons thought they were drafting with the No. 2 pick in 2002. Milicic has shown flashes of promise from time to time, but most of his career has been a huge disappointment.
In New York, they'll ask Milicic to play more like a European center. He'll run the floor, shoot jumpers and even handle the ball a bit. Milicic is capable of all of that but has rarely shown it on the court in the NBA.
For the Grizzlies, they get an athletic wing in Richardson, who can provide some shooting and scoring off the bench, and a little cash for their troubles.
