Former Kings center and crowd favorite Vlade Divac thought he knew Kings forward and friend Chris Webber better. Before the game, each of Divac's former teammates except Webber chatted with him and hugged him."I was so hurt that everyone had come to talk to me and Chris hadn't," said Divac, who played just three minutes, had his only shot blocked by countryman Peja Stojakovic, grabbed two rebounds and committed two fouls. "I knew this was going to be an emotional day for me coming back with everything that we went through here, and then for C-Webb not to say anything to me, I was really hurt. I just couldn't believe it.
"We played six years together. Kobe (Bryant) asked me about it, and I told him I couldn't believe it."
After the game, Divac shouted over a group of reporters who had Bryant pinned in a corner of the small visitors' locker room, "Kobe, I was wrong." Webber, who almost never goes to the opposing locker room, came into the Lakers' and hugged Divac and gave him a watch in a huge box. "We had a nice talk," a relieved Divac said. "Because of the way things happened this summer, we didn't really get a chance to talk. He told me (Thursday night) how much I meant to him, and I told him the same thing."
Webber told Divac, "Welcome back," during the game.
"But I didn't want that," Divac said. "That's not anything. That's not what our friendship is about. It's much, much more than that. I just wanted that hug so we could let each other know how much we meant to each other."
