Looks like we may have TWO Slam dunk contestants this year! Look at where he took off!

Totally unrelated to this video, but after the draft I spent a few days really digging into McCallum ... watching video, reading, etc. I was down on this pick as it happened only because I saw bigger needs on this roster and decent players still on the board. That being said, he could be quite good. Easily see starter potential with him. Will he make it? who knows, but he certainly has a shot.

I think D'Allesandro is was super high on McCallum. Remember he is from the same regime that got Lawson, Faried, Fournier(he will be a player in this league). I have no doubt he was high on the Nuggets board for their 2nd round pick, likely as a potential replacement for Andre Miller in the 2nd unit.

I think the quote was that we had him rated as a mid-first rounder. I love the pick... great athlete, coaches son, could've gone to a big program and possibly blown up but played for dad instead.

Yeah, I was thinking Pete'D was hoping to get him in the 20's if he was still in Denver.

Kings got a blue-chip prospect in the 2nd round because he went to a smaller school to play for his dad. As a coaches son myself, it warms my heart but I would've gone to Michigan/Indy/Kentucky/Kansas/UCLA/Duke wherever he was recruited and sent dad a nice fathers-day-card once a year. ;)

This kid has some potential. Has a solid size and build. Just need to develop him correctly, something that we haven't been doing with our young players in the recent years.

This dunk was alright, but not really a big deal. He didn't really get up that high and the guy was coming off the side to challenge. Never had the angle to do anything really.

Dee Brown said that both rookies will be his babies this season. Not only to help them develop properly as players, but also in all the other areas that they need help adjusting with. This is something the Kings haven't had in a long time, a coach dedicated simply to helping the young players develop on and off the court.

Music to my ears.

Steps in the right direction, I remember draft night a lot of people were saying he was the most NBA ready of the 2nd rounders. Even if he does not make the squad it's good to know we can stash him on the Big Horns and see how he develops.

Wasn't that Clifford Ray's role with DeMarcus last year though?

Awesome. This has been the biggest factor missing from our team the last 5 years

That is fantastic news, thanks for sharing. Whether McCallum pans out or not, at least the Kings appear to be putting him in a position where he, and others (Ben McLemore) can succeed. I will be rooting for him, no doubt.
