Message from the moderators: Tonight's game should be interesting, not only on the court but in the stands. And, by extension, in this thread. Here's the deal: This is Kingsfans.com It was founded by fans of the Sacramento Kings so that like-minded fans could have a place to come and discuss their favorite team. It has remained while other boards fell by the wayside partially because we have insisted on a certain level of civility by our posters. We do not suffer fools or trolls gladly and they are not welcome. We are fully aware of the emotional roller coaster we're all on right now and we know passions run deep BUT - and this is a very important but - it does not mean we're going to relax or forget about our principles for the conduct on this board.
Hopefully a word to the wise will suffice and the moderating staff here at KF will not have to resort to stern measures.
Now, onto the discussion of the game. I hate when the Mavericks show up because Dirk Nowitzki gets on my last nerve within seconds. I recall one playoff game I attended in person where KG and I were seated next to a very loud Mavs fan in a Nowitzki jersey. He made our lives miserable for the first half. When the Kings were able to take control of the game late in the third quarter, the tables turned. As fate would have it, it was a night when plastic megaphones had been passed out to the crowd. KG and I made appropriate use of the megaphones to point out to the Mavs fan that our team was now showing superior skills in the game of basketball and that his team had fallen somewhat in their performance. (Okay, those might not have been the exact words.
) The guy complained to the usher about us. (And yes, we were loud.) One of my fondest memories was created that night, when the usher shrugged and walked away. The Mavs fan left soon after, to a rousing chorus of laughter and catcalls from the people who had been listening to his tauntings for far too long. And yes, the Kings won.
