I'm very sure of how I feel about it - I hope it's completely untrue and would hate to see the Kings give up anything of value for Drummond.

Nope.
Kosta comes off the books after this year, the Kings have two young centers and I like the options that may be available at 34 vs taking on Drummond's deal.
SVG has always liked having a team with a dominant big surrounded by shooters. The fact that he's potentially ready to move on from Drummond should be a huge red flag.

As excited as I've been for the draft, at this point I just want the day to be over and the Kings to not have done anything stupid or grossly incompetent.

I don't want Drummond. His defensive stats look nice, but he's horrible on that end. Detroit fans constantly complain about him being a liability on D. He can't guard 4s, and he also can't guard the post. He's also terrible on offense. Even more limited than WCS. Only thing he can do is rebound.
Motor has always been an issue with Drummond..that's why he dropped to #10. He's extremely young at only 23, but his motor and work ethic are a big problem. Does he still have the motivation to improve his game? idk. he got PAID..then regressed

Drummond is owed $76 million over the next three seasons with a player option for $28 million the next season.
This would be committing to him as the Kings center. What does that mean for Papgiannis and Cauley-Stein? To me it means stunting the development of your last two lottery picks to gamble on a guy who has regressed.

I'd rather develop the guys we have then take on Drummond, unless of course they are paying us to take his contract, then I might consider it.

I think there are a lot of false rumors going around. There's this Drummond rumor and also one involving the Kings being interested in LaMarcus Aldridge. Apparently, the Spurs are shopping him for a top 10 pick. Since the Kings have 2, of course their name is dropped.
If the Kings involve their #5 for either Aldridge or Drummon, I'll snap!!!

The way I see Drummond and the Pistons, is similar to when we had Cousins, other than the fact they have happened upon a play off appearance. They are a team built around their center much like we were. Now we decided to trade Cousins because we arguably didn't believe we could win with him, otherwise we would have kept Cousins and continued to build around him. I see Detroit having a similar attitude towards Drummond because if they are "happy" to trade him, then that suggests they don't think they can win with Drummond as their main piece and consequently they want to make moves to change up their roster in order to have a better chance of winning. As good as both of these players are, I don't view them in the same tier as someone like Harden or Westbrook, they are players that have carried their teams to the play offs - take them out of the Rockets and Thunder and those teams don't make the play offs, with them they are not only play off contenders but outside title contenders. So as far as I'm concerned I don't see adding Drummond as being a worthwhile thing to do because he's not the missing piece for a play off run or to take this team to title contention. If Cousins couldn't get us there as the clearly superior player, Drummond certainly can't.
The other thing to consider here is that we already have two young centers on our roster. Here are their per 36 minutes stat lines compared to Drummond's:
- Pappa: 8.7 (TRB) / 1.7 (BLK) / 12.6 (PTS)
- WCS: 8.6 (TRB) / 1.1 (BLK) / 15.5 (PTS)
- Drummond: 16.7 (TRB) / 1.3 (BLK) / 16.5 (PTS)
Now I was going to leave the names off and let people guess, but the rebound stat probably gives away which one Andre Drummond is. However, the block and points per game are not too dissimilar between the three players. I think it is also worth noting that Drummond is a key piece in Detroit whereas Willie and Pappa have been stuck in the rotation in nominal roles until after the Cousins trade took place, after which their roles on the team increased, but even Pappa's role was fairly limited. So the way I see it, and maybe I'm wrong, but other than his rebounding ability I don't necessarily view Drummond as a major upgrade over our two young centers. I honestly believe that Willie and Pappa can increase those rebounding stats if they are given a greater role next season. The other thing to consider is that Skal has the following per 36 minute stat line:
- Skal: 9.5 (TRB) / 0.8 (BLK) / 17.0 (PTS)
That stat line suggests to me that in Skal and Willie, or Skal and Pappa, we will have a duo that is capable of grabbing rebounds on the offensive and defensive end of the court. I would rather keep our young talent and draft picks. In fact, I would rather see us draft Zach Collins or a big at #10 than trade for Drummond because I honestly don't see Drummond as a main piece on a team. HOn a bad team he can be a go to guy like Vucevic is with the Magic, but on a good team he is simply a third or fourth option. So I hope we don't do a trade for Drummond because he's not needed.

I'd much rather have Zach Collins, who will actually be able to defend in today's game. Drummond hasn't improved since his rookie year and he has some serious deficiencies on both ends of the court. He's the best rebounder in the game and insanely athletic, but he's so difficult to put a great team around.

True, passing wise Willie and Pappa both average 2 assists on per 36 minutes. If I'm not mistaken Willie finished the season with half a dozen assists against the Clippers and had a few other games with a handful of assists, and I think Pappa had a few assists in that Clippers game as well. So they clearly have some passing ability that could be utilised. I just think that these two are worth investing in and giving them the chance to develop. At the very least they can be useful centers with a decent skill set to contribute on a good team, and if their development continues, they've got lots of upside to become important pieces on a good team without being one dimensional.
Drummond is so one dimensional that I find it hard to believe Vlade would want him. Especially at the expense of his first two lottery picks.

Disagree on WCS or Papi even coming near Drummond's numbers on rebounding. Last year he averaged 14 a game and the year before 16. If there is one thing he does particularly well on both ends of the floor is rebound. His defense and FT shooting are certainly mediocre and poor. For both picks, no way. For the 10 pick, yes. We're talking about a guy on any given night will give you 20-25 rebounds. Those are elite numbers.

We wouldn't need Willie or Pappa to get near Drummond's rebounding numbers, though it is realistic that they could end up with double digit rebounds per game because they have a greater role on this team. We also have Skal that can grab rebounds. So in regards to the front court we are pretty well set rebounding wise and there is even an argument that even with all those rebounds that Drummond brings to the table, it still hasn't helped Detroit get to that next level, and it arguably wouldn't help us get to the next level either. For me, I would rather use our tenth pick on a prospect. Like I said, if Detroit are wanting to trade him, then that says they don't think they can win with him and can do better without him, so we should keep our picks and prospects and build around players that fit how we want to play.

You put a lot to faith in WCS and Papa. Papi is Still D league as far as I am concerned. He will get owned by 90 percent of the centers in the NBA right now. Without a doubt. WCS has only show flashes of being decent. None of them against good or elite competition. When either or shows up nightly and plays the oppositions bigs at a high level, then I'll believe. I have certainly not seen it yet.

I'd do that quickly. DET has gotta be looking to extract more value than that tho, unless they've got their heart set on a player at #10 they know won't be on the board at #12..
Drummond can really run, he'd be a good match with Fox, just gotta fill in shooters at SG thru PF, and they've certainly got that covered at the SG spot with Buddy.
