In all the excitement and celebration over Martin's shot to win game 3, something may have been overlooked.
Kevin Martin, of Zanesville, Ohio, and a second-year member of the Sacramento Kings, made Kings history on April 28. 2006. He became the FIRST Kings player to EVER win a Kings playoff game at the buzzer.
Yep. The Kings had NEVER won a playoff game at the buzzer before. We talked about it but I didn't really realize Kevin is now in the record books forever.
Future game winners will be mentioned and the comment will most likely be something like this:
"And Smith wins with a fantastic shot at the buzzer!! It's only the (second, third, fourth, etc.) time that's ever happened. I'm not filling in the last part of that sentence but use your imagination to its fullest.
So, once again, props to Kevin and props to Mike Bibby for the steal and assist that made it possible.
