I expect this type of attention to be paid to our KINGS from Spears. He’s been aboard the KINGS bandwagon since the off-season.
But practically nobody else is paying much attention. They’re too preoccupied with the team that’s in 12th place in the conference.

If the Phoenix Suns could go from a perennial team that doesn’t make the playoffs to the NBA Finals after just adding CP3, I don’t see why the Kings can’t get to the NBA Finals after adding Domas and Brown.
sadly bet still won't pay because Udoka such a chump he handed a finals team to someone else... i mean ffs Luke Walton couldn't f up the Warriors in 2015.

I was quite lukewarm on the Mike Brown hire initially. It felt uninspired. I figured that he would be a steadying presence for the Kings and a cut above the likes of Mark Jackson, so I ultimately approved of Monte McNair's decision. But I thought of it as a transitional hire, that Brown could potentially lead the Kings to the playoffs and break the drought, and once it became clear that the team had reached their ceiling with Brown, then McNair would need to bring in a more compelling and creative voice. Man... I was... just wrong. What a culture change. What an impressive marriage between coach and roster. I love this guy. I could listen to him talk X's and O's all day long.
I always say his candidacy was uninspiring to me until it came down to him and Jackson and I did a deep dive to try to talk myself into it, and I came away practically demanding the hire. Since I was in favor of hiring a "young up and comer" I was over the moon once he announced the assistants team. Of course we'll probably lose at least Jordi this offseason if I had to guess.
The other crazy thing is Mike Brown is all of 2 months and 4 days older than Doug Christie and 3 years older than Bobby Jackson.

Mike Brown actually played against Doug Christie in college.
I was only happy that Brown was the hire because I was convinced that Vivek would force Mark Jackson on this team. Over the last few years I'd started watching fewer games each season and not been as connected to the Kings, but if that had happened last summer, it very likely would have been it for me as a Kings fan. At least while Vivek owns the team. It just would have been the last straw after already putting up with years and years of dysfunction.
So just feeling like we got a competent coach who was aligned with the GM for once was a step in the right direction.
But what I realized later is that the reason Brown was an outstanding hire is that he WANTS to coach guys and the Kings have a roster full of players that WANT to be coached. He's not managing personalities ala Phil Jackson, or being a players coach for a team full of veterans. The fact that his last two jobs as a head coach were teams led by Kobe Bryant and LeBron James meant that he was never going to have the kind of influence he wanted.
In Sacramento he does. And it's a fantastic thing to watch.

He certainly should be. But it wouldn't surprise me if they give it to Mazzulla and instead reward the Kings improvement by making McNair the GM of the year.
Just gonna scream from the rooftops until Coach Brown rightfully wins coach of the year that Luke Walton interim-coached the Warriors to a 39-4 record but couldn't get 39 wins in a full season with the Kings as his immediate predecessor did. Mike Brown currently at 37 with 19 games to play.
