March Madness

I'm watching the end of the Memphis-Ohio State game right now. I watched the NCAA Division 2 championship earlier today.

I love March Madness.

After watching a close first half, it became clear that the ONLY way a team is going to beat Ohio State is if they can manage to get Oden in early foul trouble. He sat out for a long time. It was when he re-entered the game that the Buckeyes really started to pull away. Props to Memphis, however, for a good fight.

Go Jayhawks!!!! I sure wish this round of games could have been played at Arco.

Someone remind me why I picked a team coached by Bill Self to win it all? I think even Eric Musselhead might've won this game.

My boys gave me a scare last night, but they bounced back! I did 5 brackets and have my TARHEELS going all the way in each of them!!!!:D

I hope UNC goes all the way. They are my favorite team but I had Kansas winning the whole thing because of all their talent. But Bill Self ruined my bracket...

I think those who created the original brackets did a great job this year. In the 4 games of the Elite 8, you had a 1 vs 2, 1 vs 2, 1 vs 2, and a 1 vs 3. Only in the Midwest Regional did the #2 team not advance to the Elite 8. Wisconsin (2) got beat by UNLV (7) who in turn got beat in the Sweet 16 by Oregon (3).

I just found that interesting. No Cinderella teams at all this year.

Oregon may be the closest to a Cinderella now. They probably were a 5 or 6 seed before they took off in the Pac 10 tourney. My allegiances are always to the Pac 10 so even though my personal faves lost in the first round I've been happy with how the conference is doing overall.

That DII game today sure had an amazing finish. Wish I had seen the whole thing.

Regardless of the final matchup, we're gonna see some great basketball and a lot of activity by at least one lottery pick (hopefully)...

Go Georgetown, vindication for the Princeton offense which I still find to be incredibly underrated. I still think its practically unbeatable if run properly. (as demonstrated by the success of Georgetown and West Virginia in recent NCAA tournaments)

The Kings didn't do a bad job with it either.
